Marriage Proposals Posted: 10-26-05 09:12am
Hi,
i'm a 28yr old male who is just about to
propose to my girlfriend. She lives
abroad at the moment so I am planning a
suprise visit and proposal. Already
bought the engagement ring, booked the
flights, etc. I'm very confident she
will say yes, but I quite like the
anticipation anyway! :-)
i was wondering if anybody would like to
share their own marriage proposal stories,
in terms of which ways they proposed or
were proposed to? Or for those not
married, what would be your perfect
proposal?
Thanks... :-)

To some this may be dumb but I will always
cherish this. My hubby sang to me when he
ask me. He is not confident with his
voice but I am. I lvoe to here him sing
and so on may 28th, 2003 he pulled off on
the side of the road and started singing
to me. I didnt even really know what was
going on I was just sitting there still
mad at him over some silly fight and was
crying over the song it was im only alive
with you by jars of clay and then at 9:47
he turned on the car light and popet out
the ring and ask me to marry him. I was
speechless. I never did say yes I was
cying to much to say yes. I just shook my
head. Lol that will teach me not to get
mad over stupid stuff again right? Lol
to me that was the greatest way I could
have ever got preprosed to. I had always
wanted to have my name up on a score board
or up in the sky but when he did that it
changed everything..

He just got down on one knee after the new
years count down in front of his whole
family.. Told me to sit on a chair, and
all the words he told me went in one ear
and out the other... 'i had to ask him
later what he'd said to me' but I just
said "yes" very quietly and his mother
yelled out "i didnt hear an answer yet"
and then I said "i said yes yippeeee" it
was quite a good new years...
Embarrassing but good :):):)

Oh I would like to add that I personally
think a marriage proposal should be a
private moment, not in front odf a million
strangers- but thats just my own opinion.

Marriage Proposal Update Posted: 01-25-06 09:41am
Hi,
just as an update to my original post, she
did say yes!! :d
i got the flight out, and I had already
arranged for us to be booked into the
restaurant where we had our first date.
Then I arranged that a mutual friend would
get my fiancee to this restaurant, and
when she arrived she found me there
waiting for her. She had no idea of my
visit at all previously.
Anyway, after her initial shock we had a
really nice intimate meal together and
after the meal, and with a little bit of
wine, I popped the question. And she
said yes!
The only time I felt any nerves was in the
split second between me finishing the
question and her saying yes. It really
was only a split second but it seemed like
time stopped and I suddenly felt my knees
weaken a little!
This all happened in november. And now
in just on week's time she will be joining
me in the uk to live with me. So i'm
over the moon!
Thanks for your replies, and for your kind
words guys...
