I have gotten a select blood test to see
if i've contracted herpes. It only tested
for hsv-2, which typically causes genital
herpes.
I already know that I have hsv-1, as i've
gotten cold sores in childhood. My
question is, what are the chances of
getting genital hsv-1 if I already know
that I have the hsv-1, oral , already

Hsv-1 (cold sores) are most contagious
when there are visual symptoms just like
with herpes. Tho it is possible to pass
it while no symptoms are visually
recognizable. It is possible to get
hsv-1 in the genital area due to oral sex.
Never receive oral sex from someone who
has a cold sore. Never give it either if
you have a cold sore. Ever! It only
takes one time to spread it and 1 oral
session is not worth the risk.
