I Woke Up, And My Throat Was Messed Up! Posted: 10-28-05 15:13pm
One day I woke up (like any normal day :p)
and I was talking to my brother and I
tried saying something in a higher pitch
(which is easy for me to do) and I noticed
I couldn't do it. When I tried, my throat
and voice felt like it was straining. It
was very weird because my throat wasn't
hurting or anything comparing to like a
sore throat, or strept throat or anything
like that.
Well I thought nothing of it until when
trying to create music, because i'm in a
rock band and im a vocalist. Everytime I
tried to sing a high note which was
required in one of our songs, I couldn't
hit it. I just would strain. And also,
since some of my rock involved me
"growling" or "yelling/screaming" I can't
even do that! Hell, I can't even scream
across the street if wanting to get
someone's attention. (i was always proud
of that because if I was yelling at
someone across the way, people knew it was
me cuz I have a distinct yell haha) now,
it sounds like i'm going through puberty
and it goes from raspy yell to like weird
voice tone where before it was just raspy
yell. (by the way, i'm 22 years old) and
all this with really still no obvious
pain.
It's been 2-3 weeks. It is better, but I
still can't yell or hit really high notes
without hitting these problems. Sometimes
during the day I can hit high notes,
sometimes I can't, but my yell is still
disoriented. Anyone have any idea about
what is going on? (i haven't had a chance
to hit the docs yet, so I decided to first
ask you guys)
