Weird Things Since I Flatlined Posted: 10-28-05 20:00pm
Im an 18 yr old female and I flatlined
just over a yr ago after a bad accident.
My heart stopped 4 times while in hospital
and had cpr and shocks.
About 2 months after my accident ive been
having some weird things happening. Im
usually very healthy and fit but now its
not like that........
-the first thing that happened was I
couldnt swallow that good. Its happened
twice when eating and I choked. Luckily
there was someone there with me and they
gave me the heimlich but the second time I
was on my own. I had to pull on my tummy
myself but it didnt work. I ended up
having to smack my back on the wall a few
times and it worked.
-i was out with friends of a night and I
couldnt breathe. My chest got tight and
my heart pumped so hard. There wasnt any
pain tho. I got very breathless and
passed out and eventually stopped
breathing. I was given mouth to mouth and
taken to the hospital. They couldnt find
anything wrong tho.
-ive had pain in my chest and sometimes my
heart slows down almost to the point where
it feels like its gonna stop. If I put my
hand on my chest I can actually see my
fingers moving where my heart is pumping
so hard.
I went to the docs and told them
everything. I was refered to the hospital
and had a eeg. My heart was fine. They
listened to my heart and lungs and its ok.
Ive had x rays and
again........Nothing.
-but back in july I was at uni when I got
dizzy and couldnt breathe. I passed out
and its only when I woke up in hospital
that they told me my heart had stopped
again. I was given cpr and mouth to mouth
til the ambulance got there and then the
paramedics had to shock my heart twice. I
can still feel the bruising on my breast
bone to this day. But noone seems to be
able to tell me what is wrong. Im scared.
This has even led to my uni buying a
heart shocker to keep there in case it
ever happens to me or anyone
else............Its drastic and im scared
of what could be wrong. I still have to
go to hospital for heart checks and eegs.
Sometimes they do tests that I didnt think
needed doing. Im on my back and they
press on my tummy and I feel pain even
when I didnt know it was there.
Does anyone know what could be wrong? I
need to know because the docs dont seem
to. What if something really bad happens
and they cant do anything?
