Pain On Left Side Directly Under Rib Cage Posted: 10-28-05 23:28pm
I have read several post with pain on the
left side under rib cage, but no one has
been given a good explanation to as what
it may be. Does anyone who has posted
this question in the past have any new
information. I have had this for several
years it comes and goes as it pleases and
is quiet painful. All the mds have been
able to tell me is there is nothing there
and it should not be happening.

I am a nurse, so you'd think i'd be able
to figure this one out. I have been
having pain under my left rib cage, it is
heavy pressure, sometimes painful- feels
like I am bloated. I have shortness of
breath because of the fullness I feel from
the pain under the left rib. Gallstones
present themselves under the right rib
cage and pain in the back/shoulder blades.
This is perplexing me. Sometimes I
wish it were my gallbladder to finally
have a solution!
I suspect it is trapped gas, bloating
pressure- sometimes relieved by gas. I
have chronic constipation, I am obese and
have gained about 15 pounds in a couple of
months. As of jan 31st, I have no health
insurance and it is really bothersome
tonight. I carry all of my weight in my
abdomin- I look like I am about to deliver
a baby. I am sure the excess weight it
not helping. Current weight is 217 near
my heaviest at 5'6" tall.
