Wpw - Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome Posted: 10-30-05 14:51pm
Hello....Does anyone out there have this?
I was diagnosed 1999 with it, cardiologist
said yes you have it. If you have a lot
of episodes come back and see me, if not
just live with it.
Sometimes I am not sure what the episodes
are?
I know there is high heart pulse rate but
when I am in one of these moments I don't
think to check my rate and sometimes I go
to the hospital but it's slowed down by
then and thre is nothing they will do for
me.
I have had an episode about total of 4
times in 5 years.
Can anyone else share their experieces?

Hello dreamerinkw
saw your
message, have just joined forum
myself.Suggest you have a look further
down the list of topics in this section,
header: wpw ablation, seems like alot of
useful info and experiences there.
Personally i've had it since birth and am
44 now, only been on meds for the last
couple of years but I am considering
ablation, that's to say burning away the
wrong electrical pathway, seems fairly
painless and at least 90 % successful.
Anyway take a look, catch you later.

Paul....I did read a lot of info re
abalation.
What I want to do is talk to someone else
who has wpw and sounds like that's you.
Can you tell me, you are 44 and what are
your experiences with wpw?
How many times do you have attacks,
problems?
What are your problems like? Racing
heart and other things?
Were you born with yours or did you find
out later in life?
The message board can be difficult for me
to remember to sign into. If you would
like to email me directly thta would be
great.

Ablation Posted: 11-08-05 11:15am
Hi- I just joined this forum to meet
people who have wpw like me. I'm 21
years old and was diagnosed with wpw one
month ago. Since being diagnosed with
wpw I have had the ablation surgery. I
had the surgery two weeks ago and
unfortunately it was unsuccessful. So
now I am on a heart monitor for a month to
see if there is a pattern to when I get my
abnormal heart beat. I don't want to be
on heart medication for the rest of my
life. Has anyone out there had an
unsuccessful ablation and then had another
ablation that has worked? Thank you!

Dear kkrieger47......
If you were just diagnosted a month ago
with wpw, why did they do abalation right
away? Was medication not an option?
What were all your symptoms with this?
Thank you! Dreamer

Dreamerinkw~ I was put on toprol and
flecanaide for two weeks, my
electrophysiologist told me surgery was
the best option because I am an avid
runner. Another reason is because I
would faint at least once a month with my
attacks. It was also interrupting me
with my school and work. How are you
doing?

Wpw Type B Posted: 12-03-05 06:39am
Hello, here come a quite old wpw
sufferer. I'd my first palpitation at 6
yrs old. I just live with it (one
palpitation per year) medication:
quinidin started at 15 yrs old. 1st
pacemaker in 1982. Ablation in 1985 (2nd
pacemaker). 1994 3rd pacemaker with 2
leads (pacer failed end up with complete
heart block). 2002 4th pacemaker (pcd).
2005 a-fib found. Oct-05 found out i've
wpw type b and the 1985 his bundle
ablation left with a anterograde accessory
pathway. Dr prescribed flecainide but
didn't take it now. It is not working
and my blood result is a mess. This is
why I give permission to myself not to
take.
I'm also in "heart ablation - wpw
syndrome". Feel free to ask questions, I
would answer if I had or I know. Take
care all wpwers.
