I am currently pregnant with my 3rd baby.
With my first son I had a complete
placenta abruption during labor which led
to an emergancy csection. When I got
pregnant again it ended in miscarriage.
My next pregnancy my dr sent me to see a
specialist and he suggested getting tested
for blood problems after I have him. Well
I had him and the test came back positive
for anticardiolipin antibodies. Now that
I am pregnant again my dr sent me to see a
fetal medicine dr and he then tested for
lupus anticoag., retested for the antibody
and tested for factor 5 leiden. He
assured me nothing would come back
abnormal. But he called me and told me
that the antibody came back negative and
that one of the other 2 came back
positive. He didnt tell me which one but
he didnt have the other test result
either. He told me to take a baby asprin
now until they repeat the test in 6 weeks.
Well my grandmother had several small
strokes and had dvt and the left chamber
of her heart didnt work (dont know what
you call it) and she died of a blood clot
in a vein in her brain. She was never
tested for this cuz the drs were stupid.
Well she died when she was 54. Now my
aunt was tested for blood disorders cuz of
family history and she wants to take birth
control and her dr told her to do not take
bc, becuase something came back abnormal.
Could we have factor 5 leiden or does it
sound like lupus anticoagulant? Need some
help on this one.
