Need Help!!
Posted: 10-31-05 16:17pm

Hey everyone!! My name is teresa and I am the new mother of a three month old little boy. I was comfortable with my weight before my child was born but know i'm just plain unhappy. I get so depressed when I look at myself in the mirror. I try to diet but I just don't have the self dicipline. For example...This morning when I woke up I told myslef that I was going to eat fruit all day unitl dinner and then have something healthy. Of course that didn't work...I ended up eating lots more. I was wondering if any of you could tell me about a good diet that allows you to continue eating (healthy) all through the day. I need someone who can push me...And who can take me through a diet step by step. I'm guessing that many of you have tried the adkins diet?? Does it work?? Is it hard?? Someone please get back to me soon!!

Thanks,
teresa

Hi, I would recommend weight watchers. You can get the books off of ebay, and you don't have to attend the meetings! It allows you to eat healthy throughout the day. You'll be eating a lot of vegetables, and then fair amounts of fruit & whole grains. It's a super great diet! Atkins is hard because you are sooooo restricted to what you can't eat...And a lot of people end up binging on sweets once they go off of it & gain back all the weight they lost in no time flat! How much weight do you have to lose? Good luck to you!!!

Hey!! Thanks so much for replying. I would love to try the weight wathcher diet.. But the problem is, I can't afford it. I work at a gym that holds the meetings and it is all so expensive. I know you said that I don't have to attend the meetings but wouldn't the books be expensive as well?? I would like to lose 35lbs. I have been working really hard for the past week. I have been working out 3 times a day (work out video in the mornings, gym in the afternoons, and pilates dvd at night) and I have also been eating much better (no soda, sweets, and plenty of fruits and low fat and calorie foods) I just started to count my calorie intake today so we will see how that goes. Did you do weight watchers?? If so, how much weight did you lose? Well, once agian thank you so much for replying.

God bless and good luck,
teresa

Hey teresa,
yes, I did weight watchers...But I only did it for 17 days, and then I fell off the wagon...I lost 8 pounds though, so that was good!!! The books are not expensive. I got them on ebay (brand new!) for like $35!
If you eat low fat, work out, and cut out your sodas & sweets (like you are doing) you shouldn't have to count calories. This is a really bad time of year to start a diet anyway. Your best bet through the holiday season would be to watch portion size & don't go back for seconds...That'll help you tremendously!
Hope this helps...And by the way, I am a wife to jason too!!!

Cheers,
joy
