Just two weeks after I delivered, I felt a disturbing pain on my back just below my ribs. It would last for hours and occur every other three-four days. I talked to my Dr. And suggested to go to the er. They found stones in my gallbladder. Surgeons did a laparoscopic surgery and took out my gallbladder :p

anybody who was pregnant had this diagnosis? Because my doctor said excess estrogen from pregnancy or women who are using birth control pills increase cholesterol level in bile and decrease gallbladder movement which lead to gallstones.

I had this severe stabbing pain below my ribs when I was 7 months pregnant with my second. It got so bad that I had to go to the er....They told me it was indigestion. 3 months after I delivered jordan the same pain returned....Believe me it's horrible! I was told by the nurse at emerg that it was probably gall stones. I went for an u/s the next day, and sure enough it was.

4 months later and a whole lot of percocets, it was removed!

The nurse did mention that they see a connection with women who have had children and gall stones.

I know how it felt! It was terrible right? I cry everytime it hurts... :p

other thing for me, I had a lot of complications when it was done... They found bleeding inside my stomach because of the doctor's malpractice when they did e.R.C.P... I had to stay in the icu, blood tranfusion etc.. And all other crap :(

You probably would have had a good case against him....Some doctors shouldn't have licenses to practice

What else aren't they telling us?
You know, no one in the OB's office mentioned anything and the people in the maternity ward told me it hurt right there just because "everything hurts right now, expect it." (Basically I was left alone after the birth.)

Four months after the little guy, I finally ended up with it so bad my husband took me to ER. They treated me and sent me home, nothing else. I made a doctor's appointment of my own accord (ER didn't recommend) and then the ultrasound showed it. I'm scheduled for surgery whenever they get back to me with the referral -- the "urgent" nature of it apparently doesn't merit answering their voicemail for a few weeks...

What else are we at risk for? I wasn't told about this one and I'm sure there are others... Why wasn't I told??
