Normal Problems Taking the Pill - Adjusting After First Month

When I first started the pill, 2 yrs ago,
I had the same thing-especially after
having sex-it takes your body a while to
adjust and this is normal. Thats just my
experience. Ever since the first month I
didn't have any problems with it though

Hi
i had the same problem only I went on bc
too soon after giving birth, I think that
was my problem but I had an annoying
period like thing that lasted, no kidding
the first 3 months of the bc. It was so
annoying but apparently normal
as your body gets used to the hormones.
Good luck

I wouldn't worry too much about it since
it is your first month. When I first
started birth contol I was on my period
for the first entire month. It was
extremely horrible!! But, I talked to
the doctor and she said it was normal
because you're just getting used to the
hormones and such. Hope this helped!

Hi this is my first post and I joined
specifically for this girls question
actually.
Earlier this month I started the birth
control pill for the first time. (alesse
28 day pack). For the first few days
after my period everything was fine but
for the last week now i've have a brown
discharge that is quite annoying. I'm
relieved to hear it's probably normal due
to the change of horomones. I also plan
on just living with it unless is continues
after my next period.

You guys say you got a brownish discharge
after taking birth control. I've never
taken birth control and sometimes, right
before my period, I get a brownish
discharge. I have a gyno appointment in
january and i'm going to ask her about it,
but I just wondered if any of you guys had
any clues?

Well brown discharge is normal but it's
right in the middle of the month which is
very odd for me and now it's lasted almost
14 days. Could be from the pill but it's
puzzling. If it is from the pill I hope
it goes away next cycle, I don't want to
stop using the pill but I also don't want
to have something like this everyday of
every month.

Ive had the same thing. Well ive been on
birth control for a few years now but ive
always have the brown discharge. About 2
weeks before having my period I have it
until I start my period. At times it will
be alot and some just alittle bit. I
asked my doctor about and she said that I
need a birth control with more hormones in
it. Ive changed my pills about 3 times
now and I think I still have it. I wish
there was something that would make it go
away but I tihnk I have to live with it.

The same thing happen to me I had a
regular period then at the time I thought
I was off thats when that brown caca
started coming it lasted about 2wks. I
was scared I kind of figure it had
something to do with birth control but my
health question thought it was a
miscarriage, but I really can't say what
it is because I haven't been to the doctor
yet.

It is hard to say really if the brown
discharge is in fact caused from the birth
control directly or if it is an underlying
problem. I have always had the brown
discharge, always. Although when I
started taking the pill it did get worse.
It kept getting worse instead of better
the entire time I was on the pill. But
now after I quit taking the pill I still
have it everyday, but it isn't quite as
heavy as when I was on bc. So the bc may
directly cause it, but there could also be
another problem causing it. Just
something to talk to your doctor about.

I've been off again - on again on
alesse28. I have not been getting my
prescription refilled on time each year-
so it is like starting over every time.
The first two years starting the pill, I
would have breast pain and some light
breakthrough bleeding between periods, yet
nothing too life changing. This year, I
waited almost 3 months before restarting
my birth control, and it has been
horrible. The first month my period was
very heavy and lasted 9 days. The second
month my period was basically this "brown
sludge" hollyann84 was talking about.
That lasted almost 15 days. It seemed
like it was going away but of course my
period was starting again soon and the
discharge was back. Now that I am on my
placebo pills, I have very light blood
and brown discharge (dried blood?). I
started taking the pills because I wanted
safer sex (no pregnancy). But if I can't
have sex because I have dark discharge all
of the time, what is the point ??? This
is disheartening... For sure.... :( it
is hard to be in a relationship with
someone if you go weeks without any form
of intimacy. (it makes you feel somewhat
helpless).
I'm about to start my 3rd pack, hope the
discharge goes away....

When I was on the pill I had that same
problem and I talked to the doctor about
it and she told me it was jsut ur body
getting use to the pill and it should take
a couple months and it should be
gone.......... And I waited for a lil
while and it went away its nothing to get
worried about just ur body getiting use to
it :)

I started on birth control 3 months ago.
The second month i decided I would skip my
period cause I was going away. Everything
was fine and then about 2 weeks ago I got
my period. The worst one I've ever had.
It lasted like 10 days and I've had the
brown discharge ever since. Should I be
going to the clinic and perhaps going on a
different kind of birth control? Or should
I just give my body time to adjust?

Light Brown Discharge In the Form of a Small Sac?!

This is really gross but when I woke up
this morning I was headed to the bathroom
and a light brown discharge in the form of
a small sac came out of me, fell right to
the ground as I was walking. It looked
like when my ferret use to have diarrhea
because it was almost that solid. It
shocked me and really freaked me out, this
is my 1 1/2 month of Yaz and I'm posting
this because a google search led me to a
similar topic here. Quick replies saying
that I'm not pregnant would be nice
because I saw 2 other links on the google
search with "light brown discharge" that
were to pregnancy forums. I'm really
scared here because there are reasons I'm
on birth control, thanks for the help.

As I said, it was like a sack or capsule
almost, with my normal white discharge at
the end. It just dropped out of me really
weirdly. I am active with my fiance and
I've been on the pill and take it
regularly every morning and have not
missed one yet. I'm skipping my spacers to
override my period because my periods were
getting out of hand and that's the main
reason I've been on the pill. It's my only
form of contraceptive I'm using, could Yaz
fail so easily? Was it like a miscarriage
or something. I really don't think I was
or am pregnant, I had symptoms a few
months ago and I went to see the gyno and
the nurse, after hearing my symptoms said
I had ALL the symptoms of pregnancy and
that I probably was but the test was
negative and the symptoms went away. That
visit is when she put me on Yaz. I waited
a month before having sex w/o condoms,
been taking it regularly, I really don't
know what this is. I usually have white
discharge regularly throughout the day but
after the capsule, my normal white
discharge has stopped and for once I'm
completely dry. I keep calling the
doctor's office but I get the answering
service because they're 1/2 hour late so
far. My last period was at the end of last
month, it was an odd one because I wasn't
suppose to get it at all with this new
pill but, I get them at the beginning or
end of the month if that helps anyone give
me an answer, thanks.
