I was wondering, is it harder to detect the hormone hcg in women that are pregnant and have polycystic ovarian syndrome?

That's a good question... Maybe that's why I could never get a positive test... I should have asked my doc about that....

My doc told me a little over a year and a half ago that I had pcos (well that the chances were very great that I had it) and then in oct. I got pregnant from my ex. But I couldn't get a positive test and I did a lot of stupid things thinking I wasn't pregnant and miscarried in early dec... That's what the doc I talked to said at least.

I finally went to the doctors. Well it was a wasted trip...Even though everyone thinks I am pregnant and I can tell, my doctor doesnt think it is possible becuz I have pcos.. So she refused to do a blood test or ultrasound. The only thing she did was a urine test which came back negative..I could have guessed that one cuz I took 3 hpt and they came back negative. Well hopefully I can get a second opinion. But until then I am just going to take it as I am, just so incase I am I dont harm the pregnancy.

i gave u a hard time .B.E.C.A.U.S.E you don't have a uterus. As for the tests. All I got on my urine tests were really really faint lines and that was only on some. As for the blood test I didn't get a change to have one... Or then maybe I would have been able to know.

my doc says even with pcos it is possible to get pregnant. Only much much harder. And often needs medical help.

Fatfamily............ I am pulling for you because it would be nice to beleive but did you read the very end of that article? It says both cases described had conceived prior to "vaginal" histerectomy.....

I wish you the best......

The last one states that of the 23 known pregnancy's that 13 were right after hysterectomy(meaning they could have happened before removal) and 10 were later after the hysterectomy--late post op. "10 as late postoperative complications"

first one said "24 of the 36" supposedly happened before removal. 12 happened after removal"

third one say "cesarean hysterectomy 12 years before presented to the emergency department with abdominal pain and incidental positive urine beta-human chorionic gonadotrophin (hcg)"
