Major Ed Problem

I am a 20 year old male who has had no
hard erections or morning wood for the
past year. I could barely have sex with
the help of viagra during this period, but
now viagra has no effect what so ever.
Now I dont even have the ability to
masturbate and rarely think about sex.
Prior to being age 20, I had what I
believe a raging sex drive, I would
connstantly think about sex and
masturbated 3-5 times a day every day. I
have seen many doctors and one urologists
and they all say it is in my head, meaning
psychological. I had blood tests, and
they say everything is normal with my
testosterone being in the normal to high
range. This condition has ended many
reltionships and without wellbutrin, I am
near suicidal and suicide is constantly on
my mine without wellbutrin. My question
is what could cause this? Is there any
cure? Or im I stuck with this for life?
I barely have enough motivation to make it
through the day. Please help and offer
any advice.

I dont masturbate at all for the past two
months, I have a hard time making it
through each day. Last night I had a
break down, and couldt stop thinking about
suicide. Today I feel a little bit better
and made an appointment with a counselor
but its three weeks away. The only thing
stopping me from suicide is that I dont
want to hurt my parents.

You are doing the best thing you can if
your thinking about suicide and that's
going to see a counselor.

I am no doctor so take my advice for what
it's worth. If the wellbutrin is
currently working continue taking it until
you visit the counselor as they will have
advice that will help you get through your
situation. The problem with prescription
medication is that it can make you
dependant and the feelings you have now
may be influenced entirely by the drugs.
My girlfriend used to take mood enhancing
medications. I could see her emotions
change on a daily basis and her sex drive
was slim to none. When she stopped taking
the medication she went into a deep state
of depression, so from what I have seen
first hand this is a normal experience.
Your body is going through a state of
withdrawal and craving the feeling you
have when you are on the drugs. She is
now completely off the medication and her
mood has completely stabilized. Take a
deep look at your life and all of the
things you find negative and positive
about it. Focus on the positives and the
things you enjoyed doing before taking the
drugs. Explore some new hobbies and keep
your mind active. Suicide is not the
answer. Stay strong and fight any
negative urges you may have. Your sex
drive will return and you will be a
stronger person in the end. I hope this
helps.

Hey man
it actually makes me feel bad to read what
your going thru I want to let you know
that I had similiar issues and I got past
them and improved, and u can as well
my email is beant
owninfl@yahoo.Com
beleive me i've been thru hell and came
back and it was a long process because I
tried many things till I found out what
worked for me
i've found a few things that helped me
out.
1. You must fix what probably is now a
chemical imbalance in your head, so you
can think more clearly there are some
legal supplements that can help you
2. You must fix the pain from past
memories that puts fear in your mind, u
can, and think of more resourceful ideas
related to your goals,u should google
emotional freedom technique Dr.
Mercola
3. U should take up exercise and
running and eating better, this will heal
your body
and listen to what the guy before my post
said that's some good advice

The ssri you are on is most likely causing
the erectile dysfunction. This is a
common side effect. Perhaps change you
anti depressant and see if that helps?

I just now started taking the wellbutrin
and have had the ed problem for the past
year and a half without the ssris. The
only thing I remeber that happened before
the ed was having nose surgery. Is that a
possible cause?

Hi there! You are not alone in either
situations but it is not worth throwing
your life away which you understand
that.
It does take a while for some of the
anti-depressants, anti-anxiety meds to
take full effect, you might talk to your
regular dr see if he wants to change or
add some meds, just be up-front with him
espccially if he is the one wwho
prescribed the meds and if your counselor
did prescribe them. Let his office staff
give him a message from you about what is
going on .I do agree though with

Sandyallen is right, speak to your doctor
about the meds.

The meds I was on for surgery I took for
about three days after surgery and then
stopped and a week later is when the ed
occured during sex. I have been on
wellbutrin for the past month, but in
between I was on no drugs and the ed has
still been there for the past year and a
half.

Has anyone heard of prolactin. People are
saying I should get it tested as high
levels of prolactin can cause ed, loos of
sex drive and other things. Is this
something to look into or should I just
focus on mental state of mind?

Prolactin

Goin through same caca as you, bout 8
months now. Done all the tests read
everything and seem to be currently
improving.
Ok prolactin
yes really high levels of prolactin do
kill libido. The chances of having such
ridiculously high prolactin levels are
slim to none. Literally I mean you
prolly have a better chance of winning the
lottery then suffering from that.
Nothing wrong with you physically it's all
mental. Trust me on this. The bad part
is since it's mental it's so hard getting
through it. I don't got time now but
imma try to write you a long post on my
experience because its like yours, one day
I just lost everything and it never came
back.
Just remember, it's mental the more you
think it's anything else the harder it
becomes. It took me months of
uncertainty to figure that out and when I
finally did and believed myself thats when
progress started to happen. I had no
clue how powerfull the mind is, I always
thought the desire to have sex was an
irresistable physical force that overroad
all else and could not be ignored or
reduced until satisfied. For now relax,
you will get better takes time but you
will.
