How many weeks can an ultrasound be off? And it be considered normal? When I went to get my ultrasound I was like 16 weeks almost 17 weeks and the u/s tech said I was 14 weeks. He said that the baby weighed 4oz and was almost 4 inches in length. Is this normal?

They go by the size and development stage of your baby once you have had u/s. When I had bleeding at the early stages of my preganancy, the gp told me that because I had skipped a period, I was about 9 weeks pregnant. I said that that couldn't be possible, as we hadn't been trying that long. It turned out that we were only 5 weeks pregnant which was shown at the u/s.

I hope this helps. It's a right pain, when you think you're further down the line than you actually are!

Good luck anywho!

If you are 14 weeks and the baby weighs 4 oz and is 4 inches, that sounds right for you to be 16 weeks pregnant and the baby to be 14 weeks gestational age. Don't forget when we calculate our pregnancy, we start 2 weeks before the baby actually starts to develop.
