Hi. I'm not sure whether there is a
thread about this somewhere around here so
if there is could someon point me to it?
I'm 19 and in a month or so going to go to
my first gyno appt. I'm not sexually
active (aside from fooling around) but I
was just wondering if you women could give
me a overview of what is going to happen?
I'm nervous about going because a) it's
new and kinda scary b) it's with a male dr
and that freaks me out too (he's my moms
and she says he's good but still) and c) I
am afraid that he is going to tell me
something is wrong. I know the last one
is most likely not true, but i'm still
nervous.
Just wanted to see what you girls had to
say. Thanks for the feedback!!

I don't know what to tell you I have my
first obgyn app. On the 10th. My is a
female dr i'm super nervous too. If your
app is after mine i'll let you know what
to expect.

Yeah, i'm at school now and my mom set it
up for when I go home over christmas, but
that gives me a month to figure out what
they are going to do and want I want to
talk to the dr about. Thanks though

Don't worry guys I was really nervous too
I had my first about 6 months ago. They
dr will explain everything and take it
really slow because they know it is your
first time. U are covered like all the
time and they will ask you if there is any
reason the may be extra scary for you also
if u feel uncomfortable all u have to do
is say so and they stop immediately same
thing if you are in pain which it
shouldn't be painful at all. Good luck I
think that thinking about it is the worst
part.

I can totally relate.. I just had my
first one this past tuesday.. I was super
scared trust me but it really wasn't as
bad as I thought it was going to be. The
key is just to relax and try not to think
about it too much before hand, I know
easier said than done but trust me.. My
doctor talked me through everything and I
felt remarkably at ease.. I tend to get
really anxious and nervous before any kind
of doc appointment but it really surprised
me at how totally fine it was.. So in
short, dont worry too much, if you have
never been sexually active then you most
likely won't have anything wrong with you,
that will make you feel really great
afterwards!! :d you can find many sites
that will explain in detail what the
process is but trust me it sounds scarier
than it really is.. Just relax and it
will all be over in no time!!
