Sex Is Different Lately
Posted: 11-04-05 20:49pm

My husband and I have always had a great sexual relationship. I haven't ever had a problem with orgasm or anything.

My problem lately is that it seems to take me longer than usual to get in the 'mood' I then it seems that I am done before he is. We use to be able to go for much longer but now I am just like, "ok I got one, I am done" then if he is not done, then I feel like I have to fake it and then if it goes too much longer it starts to get really uncomfortable.

Is this something that just happens in your 30's or what? I just can't think of why this might be happening. I guess I have been stressed, but my drive doesn't seem to be affected it is just that lately I prefer the 'quickie'

anyone else experiencing anything similar?

Questions-have you had a child lately? Do you have children? Are you on birth control and if so have you changed the type you are one recently? Are you pregnant? In the beginning of my pregnancy I had this problem, after I had my child I had this problem and after I switched birth control I had this problem. I am now back to normal and sometimes it seems to happen randomly. I have to have extra long foreplay and I have to tell myself tonight is the night. I am only 22 years old, I don't think it has do with age. Or I hope not anyway. I went and seen my doctor, I told him I thought I was going through menopause. He laughed at me-i ended up finding out that my estrogen level was to high for the type of birth control I was on and I had to switch to ortho tricyclen lo. Come to find out pregnancy was tougher on my body than expected. My levels were just going up and down due to pregnancy. Call your doctor and talk to him about whats going on, it could be deeper than what you think. Good luck and hope I could help.

to answer your questions; no, no, no and no ... My husband and I are not having children and he as a vasectomy. I mentioned it to a friend of mine who is a nurse and she said it could be hormones changing as we get older (i am 32) and it could be stress related.

I never really thought of this being a problem I should worry too much about. Like I said before, my drive doesn't seem to have been affected. Only now it seems that I just prefer the quickie. The only other difference is that when he initiates it, I just need more time to get 'ready' than I once did. It seems not too long ago that I would be ready to go pretty much anytime.

Should I really tell my doctor about this? What would/could she do? I really don't like to take pills for anything unless it is absolutely necessary.

Thanks,
