I had my son 18 months ago but during the
entire last 2 trimesters I suffered from
severe back pain isolated to an area just
above a rib I injured 8 years previously.
During those last 2 trimesters I was
unable to work and spent all day in a
recliner with a heating pad just to make
the pain bearable. I was also prescibed
tylenol with codeine and then vicoden to
deal with this pain. I was unable to
drive or sit upright for more than 5
minutes due to this pain. During my
pregnancy I was treated by my ob/gyn, a
pysical therapist, pain specialist, and
chiropractor none of which were able to
help me. I ended up going into preterm
labor at 36 weeks that is still
undetermined as to why it happened but if
it had anything to do with the medication
I was on or ways I was dealing with the
pain I would like to not have to deal with
that stress again. He was ok although
his first couple days were very stressful
due to breathing and eating complications.
I have just recently been to my md who
has ordered an mri and x-rays to determine
if there is anything that can be done to
eleviate pain in any future pregnancies.
Has anyone had any experience with this
type of problem and were you able to get
relief.

Thank you I hope I get some answers and
good news after my mri and xrays next
week. People ask if labor and delivery
was hard I tell them that was a cake walk
compared to the months of pain I had
before. I'm so scared to get pregnant
again knowing what I will have to face if
the drs are unable to help.
