Q: Is Alcohol Hazardous to Early Pregnancy?

Hello! I just need help to clarify something that has been bugging me for a week now. I have been having sexual intercourse with my boyfriend everyday for the last 2 weeks without using any contraceptives and I have been drinking alcohol almost every night for like 7 days straight. I don't know if i'm pregnant but of course I do know that without protection during sex can lead to pregnancy. I am alright if I get pregnant, I think i'm ready for it if it ever comes. Now the question is, if i'm pregnant is the fetus going to be fine even if I have been drinking alcoholic beverages?

Drinking alcohol is fine.. When you're not pregnant. If you do become pregnant, I would could back on the alcohol a lot. I have heard it's fine to drink a glass of red wine a day. But with beer and hard liquor, they use yeasts to ferment the alcohol to be able to get it on stores shelves faster instead of letting it ferment the natural way (by letting it age), and that can harm the baby (the yeasts). This is what my doctor had told me at least.

I personally wouldn't drink at all with being pregnant, but then again, I don't drink now as it is. You make your baby more at risk for getting fetal alcohol syndrome. Here is a link for more info on that: http://www.Nofas.Org/ . I'd just talk to your doctor about this. S/he would be able to tell you more about it all, and be more exact.

Is your boyfriend ok if you get pregnant? I know you said you are, and hopefully he is too since he hasn't been using protection either.. If neither of you are truly ready to have a baby (unless you're trying to conceive).. I'd start wearing protection and get on some kind of birth control. If you haven't talked to your bf about things.. I'd talk to him now since you could be pregnant with having unprotected sex so much lately. How old are you both if I may ask?

I got really drunk the weekend before finding out I was preggy and I was about 5 weeks when I found out. My son is fine, just make sure that if you think your preggy, stop drinking till you know for sure.

One beer, one drink should be okay occasionally while preg. But intoxication is not good. Many of us did many things before we found out we were pregnant, and im sure 99% had perfectly normal children. If there is a chance of pregnancy(which there is) I would refrain from getting loaded for now. Until you know for sure. Then one drink or so occasionally only--if its not possible for you to completely quit. My opinion, I am no Dr. Just someone who has been preg 10 times.

Weird Things Are Happening
Sorry for changing the subject but there and a few things that I must know and I really dont whats going on with myself ok I started my period 4 days early so I started on november the third and then on the fourth of november I had a couple of beers. Then I went to go to the washroom and I noticed that my period wasnt normal and it was light pink. And now today is the 6 of november and my period is still light pink. Its so light that I only need one pad for the whole day because hardly anything is coming out.
And I dont know whats going on.But is there a posssibility that the beer could have started an affection.Or is this an early sign of pregnancy. If anybody knows whats going on I would appreciate to hear what you have to say and thanks for taking to time to read my post.

It culd be what is known as implantation bleeding or pregnancy period which does happen alot. If you drink a lot of alcohol it could thin your blood, causing lite pink I suppose!! Idk not a Dr.

Medical researchers and experts have done studies about drinking during pregnancy, and what they have learned is that

a) drinking during pregnancy can lead to all kinds of problems (fetal alcohol syndrome, low birth weight, etc)

b) they don't know how much alcohol it takes to cause those things, and they don't know know how much is safe, so the agreement in the medical community is that it's better to be safe than sorry, meaning don't drink at all during pregnancy, and then you'll have nothing to worry about.
