Worried!

Hi all,
anyone ever felt like this?
I feel like my airway has tightened up,
convinced I am not breathing in properly
and that I am now breathing manually
rather than not thinking about it. A
bit panicky, thinking that my heart is not
beating correctly - don't know why I think
this... When in bed its like it's my
left hand side below my ribs thats
stopping me from breathing properly.
Also a rumbling clunky noise like gas or
bubbles popping...

After reading some topics I wonder if I am
having panic attacks, but that seems silly
to me. But suppose I am totally
questioning myelf whenever I feel that
way...

Yeah, I dont have asthma.
Its like im fine all the time, but then if
I remmeber what I was feeling, or think
about it, it becomes all tight, just below
my adams apple area, and remains like that
til I get my mind onto something else.

Hi
it sounds like anxiety to me as it`s worse
when you think about it. Anxiety is like
that and it can cause a variety of
symptoms, throat tightening and breathing
troubles is one of them.
Let me know if you need any more info

Thanks debs :)
i'm joining the local medical practice
tomorrow to try and get it sorted.
Put on some music and tried to have a bit
of a dance around in my room, and heart
started thumping, so gave that up...
Whats that all about... Ew no.

Hi
juat thought i`d say that you did the best
thing putting on music and dancing around,
I do that all the time to take my mind off
things. Thats the best thing you can do
for anxiety, is take your mind off it.
You`ll get used to your heart racing after
all your only doing exercise!
Good luck

When I first got anxiety I was convinced
that I had a sack of air stuck under my
left ribs. But no - after a million test
nothing is there.
As for the jumping around dancing - yep my
heart races too and like debs says it is
exercise!!!! You will get use of it in
time, learning to live with it and
admitting that you have anxiety is half
the was to recovering!
Take care

I go clubbing every weekend, so I know how
my heart usually feels, and after less
than a minute jumping around the room, it
never clunks like that..
I went to the docs today and its been
suggested I go to hospital for an ecg for
palpitations. Got blood test taken to
check thyroid.
Also been prescribed beta blockers as well
for whenever I feel the throat panicky
thing coming on

Maybe when you are clubbing you just don't
have time to notice! When you are around
loud music and your mind is preoccupied
with friend etc.
Get check out - it is the safest bet.
The if all is clear you can deal with the
anxiety your own way!

Sippycup get a life! If you can't offer
any support go somewhere else!
Hang in there rastamickk, get checked out
by your doctor and then if all is o.K.
Start learning about anxiety and what
foods to stay away from etc and what helps
to releive the feelings that you get.
Hang in there and if you need to talk you
can email me anytime

Get a grip sippycup! Do you actually
think you are any help with your off the
cuff remarks.
Some people here have been to hell and
back and we`re the only ones who
understand what its truly like. Why don`t
you go and take your "useful" comments
elsewhere.
Like bek if anyone needs any help I am
here also, don`t listen to people with
that attitude as they know nothing!
Go bek!
