Me and my parter have been trying
unsucsesfully for 3 months to get pregnant
I came off my injection 7 months ago when
I told my doctor that we were going to try
for a baby and she said that I had to come
off the injection because it took at least
a month for the injection to stop working
but still I have no luck when I was
younger I caught clamidia and genital
warts off an ex partner the doctor caught
it quick enough and cured the clamidia but
still no joy is it possible that the
genital warts have stopped me from
conceving and if not please will someone
help me because I am scared I am infertile
and me and my partner were looking
foreward to being parents please help me

Emma, I just wanted to tell you that it
takes the average couple 8 months of
actively trying before they conceive. So
three months is not that long especially
considering you were on "the shot" (depo,
i'm assuming). Depo is notorious for
screwing up your cycles and hormones, and
it takes women months to get back to their
normal cycles. So I wouldn't panic just
yet. Most likely it will happen for you
eventually.
That being said, if you don't feel like
waiting around and are getting anxious,
then there are some things you can do.
You should probably see your doctor again
(or a different doctor, if the one you
have is not giving you any real answers)
to
a)get a pre-pregnancy check up
b)get complete std testing (lots of stds
don't have symptoms)
c)discuss how a previous std could affect
your ability to get pregnant
also, you can start using "natural family
planning" (which involves charting your
fertility signs so that you can tell which
day you are ovulating, and have sex on the
few days before then to maximize your
chances...Timing is everything in this
game!). You can find tons of info on
pregnancy forums about it.
Good luck!
Ps you should also start taking prenatal
vitamins, because ideally you want to be
taking them every day for 3 months before
you get pregnant.

Stop trying to get pregnant, you might be
surprised, this is when it might happen!
And I do agree, with the posster above and
that is to check with another dr on your
past std and the effects on pregnancy.
Good luck! And I am sending you some baby
dust your way!

Not trying to freak you out but I had
chlamydia too and i've been trying for
seven years! Does that put your three
months into perspective sweetie? It took
me two months to go through the ivf drugs
alone!!! Honestly a specialist won't talk
to you until you've been actively trying
for twelve months and if by then you still
aren't pregnant they can do every test
under the sun. It could be anything from
polycystic ovaries, to scars in your
tubes, to not ovulating, to hostile mucus
to bad sperm count. There is no way to
know but it also could be nothing so just
give it time. A huge misconceptions is
that people fall pregnant easily and they
don't. If only they mentioned that in sex
ed too huh? Best of luck!

[emma i read your message and i had the
same problem i couldnt get pregnant even
after i came off the pill injection i was
told by my gp that any kind of pill can
stay in your system for upto 10 years even
though you have had it removed or stopped
taking it. I know how you feel i have been
trying for a child now for 6 years and
still no luck. i have started to now tell
myself i no longer want children maybe it
could turn around. but i feel the more you
tell yourself and keep trying for a child
the more you are not going to get it so
try not to think about it and maybe it
could suprise yoou

the depo is well known to cause
infertility issues for many women not to
mention other issues like osteoporosis and
so on. That drug should be out of the
market by now, its poison for your body.
what clamydia does is that the bacteria
creates scar tissue in the fallopian
tubes. What it does it destroys the little
hairs that move the egg to the uterus so
then the fertilized egg get's stuck in the
tube and cause ectopic pregnancies. Given
this is the issue i would think ivf would
work well. If the clamydia gets caught
early there might not be even damage to
the fallopian tubes.
I don't know if i have fertility issues as
I have never tried to ttc but if I do I am
doomed because I'm 34 so i don't have many
years to try fertility treatments. I don't
think I would even try them and go
straight to adoption. I don't know the
safety of fertility drugs but i know I
wouldn't risk my health for having a
biological child no matter how big my
desire to be a mom is. After taking a
chemotherapeutical drug for acne (that
wasn't really needed) when i was younger
and being scared of never recovering from
its side effects i don't want to take any
more drugs that are not necessary..Really
having health is nice

Emma,
You've only been trying for 3 months. The
average couple takes a year to become
pregnant. But, if you think you might be
infertile due to a disease you might have
contracted in the past, you need to see a
doctor instead of posting your concerns
for an answer. Only a doctor can make a
determination about your fertility. And
the sooner you get checked out, the sooner
you'll have your answers.

Stop Eating Nightshades!

Hi,
Several studies have shown that
nightshades(potatoes, tomatoes, pepper,
and eggplant) interfere with conception,
and retention of the embryo. Nightshades
contain several neurotoxins, that lead to
birth defects in mice.
When monkeys were feed nightshades they
would not get pregnant. You may have
other problems, but nightshades will not
help.

Me and my boyfriend have been trying for a
couple months now and its not working. And
we really wanna have a baby. I was on
birth control for like a year before me
and him got together but I was only on it
for a couple months cause I ended up being
algreic to it so I had to stop taken it.
And I havent havent taken any since, so I
dont see why I cant get pregnant. Is there
like any way that can find out when I can
get pregant or anything...if there is can
you please tell me.

As previous msgs have indicated.....it is
more normal for it to take months to get
pregnant. Many years ago my husband and I
had trouble conceiving. We went through
all the tests. The final test involved
looking at my fallopian tubes to see if
there was a blockage. Curiously, shortly
after we started trying to conceive, I
contracted some kind of a painful
infection in my abdominal area. I was
young and my doctor was vague. I still
don't know if the infection might have
involved my fallopian tubes. In order to
see the fallopian tubes, a dye is pushed
through them. I became pregnant very
shortly after this test. I was told that
sometimes there is an obstruction that is
removed as the dye moves through the
tubes. It is annoying to think about
because this was the very last test after
12 mos. of tests. All in all it took me 2
1/2 years to conceive. But, it took only
a couple of months for the 2nd baby. I
took b.c. pills before trying to conceive
the first time. I took b.c. pills between
babies.
Bottom line: concerns about getting
pregnant should be addressed with a
doctor.
Also, is there any reason why you wouldn't
marry the man who is going to father your
children? Mothers and children benefit
from the legal protections that marriage
provides. And, children benefit when
their parents make a committment to work
hard to make a relationship work.

I read your post and I thought three
months isn't that long. Tough I would say
I think it will take you a while to fall
pregnant. I have been off depo for two
years and I have'nt used any other
contraception as me and my boyfriend have
been trying for a baby since. If I'm
honest my periods have been regular for
just over a year. I haven't had any joy.
Sorry if I've made you wonder but it could
take a long time. I've decided to give up
trying and just see what happens as I'm
starting to think there's something with
me as my boyfriend has already got a
daughter.

Also Waiting to Be Pregnant

I have been married for 6 years and have
never used birth control. In the begining
we used the pull out method (everybody
knows that this is not the best of
methods)For the last 2 years we have
obstained from that method all together
trying to conceive. We never tried not to
have a child and never tried to have one
as well. We are very natural about it,
not a whole lot of worry. Until lately I
have wanted more( he always wanted) I dont
chart my fertility or temp. and all that
jazz. Still no baby. All the women in my
family are so fertile and everyone is now
looking at us and it angers me off.
Everyone always asks us when and why we
havent had a child. When I was a teenager
I had clamediya(sp?) that was undetected
for about a year. Is that why? I also have
a small degree of scoliosis that I was
thinking may tilt my pelvis some making it
harder for sperm to enter my cervix? It is
painful when people ask me when we will
have a child, because I want one. It feels
like everyone around me is having kids.
I have heard about the testa to see if
your tubes are blocked. What kind of dr.
would I go to. An OBGYN. I talked to the
gals at PP and they never told me of these
options?

Iknow How You Feel

I know it can be very frustrating waiting
for the time to come when you miss a
period and think you may be pregnant then
the test is negative. it happened to me in
november. I wasn't sure if I was havin
gproblems or if I had a STI so i went to
the doctor and had loads of tests done
which luckily came back negative. The fact
that you had clamediya when you were
younger could be nothing to do with the
problem your having conceiving. Though I
do beleive you should ask your doctor to
refer you to a gynecologist as it could
ease your mind abit knowing whats going
on.

My husband and I have been trying for 2
years now..I have not been on birth
control since I was 17..I am now 22...My
husband has been checked out and he is
fine. Last Friday I finally went for my
HSG where they put dye in your tubes to
check them out. They were fine. I am
hoping the dye might have pushed something
out of the way so Im hoping to be pregnant
soon! Any words of wisdom from people that
have had an HSG and became pregnant
shortly after? Thank you!!!!!!!

It has been many, many years...but I had a
HSG and within a few weeks I became
pregnant with our first child...after 2
1/2 years of trying. I was told that a
microscopic obstruction could be
preventing pregnancy and that the HSG
might show no obstructions because the
procedure sometimes pushes out the
obstacle. That child is now 26 years old
and pregnant with her first child.
Weirdly, she and her husband tried for one
year before she became pregnant. She had
hormone level problems and was set to
begin taking a fertility drug when she
became pregnant.

Hi im sammy just to comment,
I havnt been overly trying to get pregnant
so hard and i have been waiting 4 years
now to actually conceive.
I dont let myself worry about it i have a
great sex life and dont wish to condemn it
with only having sex when im ovulating and
that sort of thing i mean it isnt a chore
is it its supposed to be fun and loving
and as it can make it worse to worry too
much, as ive read all over the net
tonight. it is only today that i have
started to look into this a little further
as i am starting to get a little anxious
about it now. As my partner is now 31 and
im 22 my partner really wants a child and
doesnt want to leave it too late so what
should i do? Do i carry on as normal? or
do i go and seek help and tests and risk
messing up my sex life and relationship? i
dont know what to do help!! xxsammyxx
