Hi! I am 22 years old and have been on
birth control for a year now. I am having
all symptoms of being pregnant, just
starting about a week ago. (extremly sore
breasts, discharge, bloating, moodiness
and more)....But I am in the middle of my
pack of pills...I took a test and it came
out negative...I was just wandering if I
had to wait until after my period is
supposed to come or should it show up now?
Should I still be worried because I am
all new to this..???

If you have used your birthcontrol as
directed they are almost 99.9% effective.
I have been off of birthcontrol pills for
some time now trying to get pregnant and
had no luck, but ironically every month I
have every sign of pregnancy so don't
worry. Wait until your period is close to
due then test. The tests are usually very
accurate and rarely produce false
negatives. The best reasons to wait until
after your period is late is that tests at
there most accurate at this time because
when you are pregnant your body produces a
hormone called hcg. Those hormone levels
double every week that you are pregnant.
The tests detect this hormone and the more
of this hormone you have in your body the
better chance the test has of picking it
up. The other reason is that your
symptoms could simpley be pms and you may
get your period the next day (potentially
wasting money on expensive tests). Good
luck to you!
