I went to the doctors today and they want me to have a colposcopy done and i'm in my first tremester. I told her my concerns and she stated that everything would be fine, that I shouldn't worry. Please tell me what you think.

Extremely eHealthy
I had to have that done.

They said my pap smear came back abnormal, it turns out I have cancerous tissue in my cervix that may go away when I have my baby, or I may have to get it cut out after I give birth.

What they do is, they'll rub the inside of your vagina with vinegar, the abnormal cells turn white when this is done. (you could have invasive cancer)

they will then clip a piece of your vagina off to test it, it doesnt hurt that much, but it does hurt. It makes you bleed for about a week, but it will go away.

It's quite far away from your baby when the procedure is done, so nothing should harm the baby. I have to have it done at 30 weeks again to make sure it hasnt spread. Because if it does I might loose my baby.

If ya have any questions send me a msg.

Can anyone help?? :-)
I had an abnormal smear and was booked in for a colposcopy which i have just had on 4th March 09. I wasnt expecting more than that. However, for the past 2 months, my partner and i have been trying for a baby and tried quite hard to concieve on all the fertile days. Obviously i told this to the doctor before she examined me and as i wasnt due on for another 2 weeks, she couldnt test me as was too early. I had to have a punch biopsy whilst i was there as i am now awaiting a loop diathermy in the next couple of weeks. I now have 9 days til im due my period but had one day of bad bleeding 3 days after my biopsy. I "feel" preg, but dont know obviously as this is all very stressful. Has anyone been in this situation and found out they are preg but due treatment? I know the outcome of a bfp will effect treatment as they said i wouldnt be able to have it until after birth etc. Any advice/response will help. thanks.
