Missed Pills-abnormal Bleeding Normal?

I have been on the pill for 8 years and take the pill fairly regularily. I missed 4 pills in a row in the first week of my new package. I took two the next day, and then two again the next day. It is now the week before my "white pills" and I have been having cramps and some light bleeding. Does anyone know if this is because I screwed up on my pills???
