Doctors Won't Listen!
Posted: 11-08-05 21:07pm

I am getting very angry. I am getting horrible symptoms of possible low blood sugar but when I eat I still have these symtoms and they are getting worse by the day. I have gained 6 pounds just in the past 2 weeks so I went to the doctor again and he wouldn't listen. Scince I am still underweight he said, "your'e not eating enough." I tried to tell him I have been eating more and more and more and gaining weight but he practically egnored me. He ordered blood tests but they won't be in for 3 more days and if this gets any worse, I will pass out. Should I wait till things get so bad, I have to call an ambulance?

Not low blood sugar...Low thyroid but I can not see that being the cause of almost having a seizure. I felt so bad this morning and I had to eat about 3,ooo calories just to feel good again and not puke. That was something I have not done in years. I am angry. I have gained 15 pounds in 3 weeks because of this and I don't know what to do. If I keep having to eat like this, I will be obese by next year. Please help!!!

Hi I am sorry u r having such a hard time. It sounds like hell and I know how it feels when u finally decide you have to eat because you feel so bad but then it is like it takes so much food to give yourself a boost. Because this is a really hard fight I think it is important to have a dr that listens and will work with you congrats for going to the dr in the firstg place maybe there is someone else who can help you more. Are you also in therapy? Have you been hospitalized? When I was seeing a dr regularly it was hard bc all she did was check my vitals and take my blood.

Thankyou for responding. Today I felt somewhat better, but still "off" this is only my second day of thyroid pills and he has me on a very low dose. Yes, I have been hospitalized more times than I can count. I hate the hospital and will avoid it at all costs. I was desperate last night searching for answers on the net about what else could cause my symtoms, and I found this article on nutra sweet "poisoning" I noticed that whenever I had a tea or coffee with the stuff, 4 or 5 packets in each mug, the symptoms would get so bad, I couldn't get off the couch for 6 hours. The article said the stuff can build up in your system over years and cause some pretty horrible things. This happens to 1 in 1,000 people and all the symtoms were what I have been experiencing. They recomended cutting out all nutra sweet for 1 month then if the symptoms improve, have some and see what happens. This is the first day I have cut out sweet and low and it was hard having like 1/4 cup sugar in my tea instead of the 5 sweetener but my symptoms were a little better today so maybe this is it. I'll let you know what happens over the next few days.
