Hello,
i am from athens-greece and all started
for me almost 3 years ago. On 2002 I
faced marital problems that lasted for 8
months. During that time I was crying and
feeling very bad. When things improoved
and we all relaxed in the house I had my
first panic attack as the doctors told me.
My blood pressure went up and I was
sweating for almost 10 minutes. I started
going to all the doctors I knew. I took a
triplex test in the cardiologist, blood
tests, thiroid test (which I knew I had a
problem), I went to check my ears, my eyes
and finally I had a gastroscopisis
(stomach exam). At the very end I took a
axonic tomography in the head and
eveything was ok.Sorry for the english,
but I do not know all the terms. It was
proposed to me to take ladose pills (
called prozac in the usa)(1/day) for 7
months. At the same time I went to a
psychologist and this helped me a lot. I
was feeling excellent. So I stopped them
after 7 months. After 4 months and having
a lot of pressure in the office and at
home since I have a 10 years old child (i
am 38) I started feeling again nausea,
lightheadness and panic attacks. So I
started again ladose plus xanax 0,5mg
(1/day). Now its been a year and I can
not tell you that I feel very well. After
7 hours working in a very demanding
environment, I feel my neck pain and
especially after eating I feel like
stepping at one place and being on another
one. This really doesnot happens. Its a
sense I have. If I take a xanax I feel ok
almost half an hour later. Last month I
had a test that was missing from my
collection. Colonoskopisis and of course
everything was ok. My doctor says that I
suffer from ibs, plus a phobia for my
health. During weekends I feel fine.
Sorry for the long message, can someone
convince me that everything is in my head?
Today I will take a magnetic tomography
for my neck problems. I have decided to
stop with the doctors. I forgot to tell
you that I measure my blood pressure
several times per day and usually its
within acceptable levels. All my friends
plus my colleagues say that I do not look
at all stressed. I laugh a lot and I like
jokes and spending time with my family. I
make plans for the future. Will I always
take medication to feel almost ok? My
doctor now changed ladose to dumyrox (half
pill every night). Sorry for jumping from
one issue to the other but I am in the
office.
Have a nice day

hello,
i was reading your not and all that you
are doing I did. I have so many physical
test done to me because I thought I was
sick or that I was going to die. I been
having panic attacks since I was 16yrs,
now im 26yrs and I cant take it any more,
but I have to deal with it every day 24-7.
Im taking celexa and prozac, I stared
taking celexa 40mg about 5years ago now I
have to take prozac, because when you
start to get older your stress and panic
attacks get worse. There is nothing wrong
with taking medication for the rest of
your life only if thats going to make you
feel better health wise. Its been very
hard for me and I wish I can change this
but unfortunally we cant. I will be seen
a pshycologist that practice hipnotisim
(when they put you to sleep and asks about
your problems or your fears) I willing to
try this if it helps. You can ask me
questions about your panic attacks,
unfortunally I know the feeling maybe I
can help you answer some questions!
