Hi...I have been trying to get pregnant
for almost 2 years now. I never did the
birth control thing, so I didn't have to
worry about that. I saw my ob and was
started on an infertility work-up. I had
an hsg (hystersalpingogram) and it was
found that I had fibroids that were
blocking one of my ovaries. I had surgery
to correct that and still didn't get
pregnant, it was also found that I had a
raised prolactin level, which can cause
infertility, but I started a medication
and that is now taken care of. My doctor
has now started me on clomid. It's a
hormone drug that makes you produce more
eggs, more eggs more chance of pregnancy.
My husband and I took it last month and
still didn't get pregnant. I am trying
not to stress myself out about it, but
it's hard when it's all you think about.
I was wondering if there was anyone else
that has done the same route that I have
and what was the success rate...

Currently Taking Clomid Posted: 11-13-05 19:00pm
I am on my first cycle of clomid, and my
fingers are definitely crossed. I have
endometriosis, so this may be different
for me, but have you had a lot of
abdominal pains? I ovulated yesterday,
and before I even took my temp or took the
ovualtion test I knew it because of the
pain.
Anyway, good luck, let me know how things
go! Infertility is awful, it grabs onto
your life and you can't think of anything
else. And then everyone around you, and
even on here, tells you to "just quit
trying"...Yeah if I had that ability it
would be awesome but it isn't that easy!
Take care, try not to kill anyone with
your wonderful clomid mood swings :)
p.S. My friend is now 23 weeks preg after
5 cycles of clomid...She has a healthy
pregnancy...

I definately noticed the cramps. I had
bad cramps with ovulation and with regular
menstrual cycle. I mean I usually had
mild to moderate cramps on the first day
of my cycle, but when I took the clomid,
the cramps were more severe and lasted
almost thru the whole cycle. And then
there are the mood swings...You can ask my
husband about those...We usuallly tease
each other, but he learned real quick that
he can't tease me when I am taking
clomid...But I am on my second cycle of
clomid and I am running out of time. You
see, I am in the military and will be
deploying in january. So our time frame
is limited. I am not trying to get
pregant to get out of the deployment, but
I have been waiting so long I don't want
to have to put it off any longer...I am
waiting to see how things are going with
this round of clomid. Thanks for
responding to the post I was starting to
think that noone in hear liked me...Let me
know how things are going for you...
