Hey all....
Ok here is my situation. I had to go the
the er last night due to fainting. I am
, according to all of the numbers, 12
weeks pregnant, lmp 8/14/05. The thing
was that they couldn't find a heartbeat.
I thoughtmaybe it was too early or the
baby was behind something....I don't know.
Well today at work a girl there told me
that it could be a molar pregnancy. I'm
scared now that that is what is going on.
They didn't seem too concerned about it
last night, whatdo you think? :?

Not to scare you or anything ... Just
want to give you my experience.
They're usually able to hear the heartbeat
at 10 weeks pretty good. Sometimes
they're not able to find it, it's very
common.
I had to go to the er with my second
pregnancy because I was cramping, fainting
and lightly spotting. They couldn't find
a heartbeat, either (at 8 weeks) and they
decided that they were going to schedule
an ultrasound the following week. I went
in, happy go-lucky, feeling pretty good
and they told me that the heart wasn't
beating and I was in the process of
miscarrying. So, I ended up having a d
& c a few days later.
With my next pregnancy, I was a
nervous-wreck. I always thought that I
may be miscarrying and I was just a total
mess! I had a normal pregnancy (aside
from all the hell I was putting myself
through) and gave birth to a healthy boy
:-)
i wouldn't worry too much about it until
the dr's give you a reason to. You may
want to ask for an ultrasound, though,
just to be on the safe side. Good luck!

They couldnt pick up the heartbeat with
this pregnancy at first but the dr was
persistent, i'm a little bigger and never
lost my jelly belly from elisa so he said
sometimes when you are bigger could take
an extra week.
I had first gone in at 11weeks and went
back at 13 to check again and it was there
so it could be a matter of different
things stay hopeful!!!

Thats alittle weird to me....Usually they
will do an ultra sound if they cannot pick
up the babies heart beat at 12
weeks.....?? I am thankful that my dr
will not let you leave until he finds
it......I had to have a d&c at 12
weeks because he couldnt find it with the
moniture, but he wouldnt let me leave
without finding it so he did an ultra
sound............
It is true that your baby could just be
hidding...But I would have thought your
baby would have been big enough to see. I
have ultra sound pictures of my baby @ 9
weeks.
So, I guess I am just
conffused.........Sorry
love, tammy

Sometimes they just cant get the heart
beat--like previous writers have
said--they should have done a ultrasound
then. When do you go back.??
Dont worry just yet. Keep up pos
attitude and wait for next visit.
Good luck

Hey tammy,
I found out after that I should have
stayed until he found the heartbeat but
there are still some things that I am
naive with when it comes to pregnancy. I
had the same problem a few weeks ago but
its because I was lying on my back and had
something to do with cord being pushed on
(so the heartbeat was slow) dr had me turn
on side and we heard it but its just a
scary expierence altogether.........
Anyways im leaving it at that
take care hun let us know what happens
with heart beat

Hey diamondsz,
i am glad you heard your babys heart beat
finally.........Yaaaaa........
ya I am really thankful my dr is like
that, I have already lost my baby. I had
to have an emergancie d&c in august
because when he did the ultra sound my
baby had already passed on at 12
weeks......It was really hard for me, but
am thankful to my dr for not letting me
leave without knowing what was going
on........ We are trying to have a baby
at this time, no luck yet
though.........
Love, tammy

My doctor could not hear the heartbeat at
9 1/2 weeks but he did bring the baby up
on the monitor and it was moving. That
was why we could not get the heartbeat so
early because it is so small that the
doppler needs to be right on top of that
heartbeat. I hope to hear it at my next
appointment. He told me before even
doing it at 9 1/2 weeks there was a 50/50
chance of hearing it. I would ask for an
ultrasound immediately just so your nerves
are settled if nothing else.
