Ttc, Am I Possibly Gonna Get Pregnant Posted: 11-11-05 02:36am
Alright i'm 18 and my boyfriend is 20 (
i'm out of school ) and we are trying to
have a baby. ( please dont judge!)
anyways this is my story
i was on birth control, I havent been
taking it regularly the past 3 months and
havent taken it in about 2 or more weeks.
I had my period a week or two ago and
looked up online the possible dates of my
ovulation....Many times again I got the
10-12.
My boyfriend and I have been having sex
about 2 or 3 times a day since the 5th,
just to get within the range of days, and
plan on continueing until sunday or
monday.
At times he tends to pull out, because
most of the time when we have sex we use
condoms, yet he always pulled out, but now
that were trying for a baby he seems to
forget this!
Anyways do you think our possibilities are
high?

Hi, good luck on ttc. I am ttc also.
From what I have learned online, even if
you have sex every day , or during
ovulation, a normal couple still only has
a 25% chance of getting pregnant in any
given month. Ttc for a year is
considered well within a normal time
frame. But here are some tips I have
learned;
taking robitussin (otc) during ovulation
will thin out cervical mucas making it
easier for sperm to swim
lying down or with a pillow to elevate
your pelvis will also help, so that no
sperm leaks out
sperm can live for up to 3 days so sex
multiple times a day are not necessary.
Every other day is a good strategy b/c
sperm will be more potent
ask him not to masterbate in between, as
this will defeat the purpose.
Smoking from either partner can decrease
fertility up to 50%
taking prenatal vitamins or at least .4mg
of folic acid is a good idea 2-3 months
before getting pregnant. That doesnt have
anything to do with getting pregnant
itself, just is good for baby's health.
Also a pre-pregnancy check up is a good
idea to rule out any potential problems or
diseases
also you are young so that is in your
favor for ttc, but if you concerned about
your ability to concieve you may want to
check with your doctor if:
-you have irregular cycles
-have suffered a pregnancy loss
-have used iud
-experience painful menstral periods
-have had a pelvic infection or had
abdominal surgery
lots of baby dust to you***********

Oh one more thing, your doctor may ask you
to wait a couple months after taking birth
control pills before ttc.
And dont let him pull out! :)

Having sex 2-3 times a day is actually
counterproductive. It is only nessacary
to have sex every other day and is
recommended other whise u are using up his
sperm supply and not allowing it time to
build back up and basicly everytime u have
sex it is with a low sperm count then.
So way to go on having sex that often but
during ur ovalation time slow down on how
much u have sex

Even though we have sex more than once a
day, there is still always some kind of
sprem going in whether pre-cum or not. So
isnt there still chances even if theres
not a lot?

yes theres a chance, but not a very big
one. You'd be better to at least cut
back to once a day during ur ovalation
time. Try charting ur basal temp,
cervical mucus, ovalution predictor tests
(which predict ur lh surge) ect. You can
find tons of info on this site or by doing
a search on www.Google.Com. Then
u will know when u are supposed to be
ovalating so u only have to have sex less
at that time
