Can Damage Occur Before Implantation? Posted: 11-12-05 12:09pm
I'm five months pregnant now but I have
had this question on my mind. Does
anyone know? Can damage occur before
implantation? This is the couple weeks
after you conceive. I am thinking no b/c
the placenta hasn't formed yet so I think
the cells just survive on it's own until
it implants on the uterus. I drank
during this time (and even after
implantation I did these things b/c I
didn't know I was pregnant) and was also
on medication. Most likely everything is
okay. Just wondering if someone could
answer this.

Damage to the embryo, fetus, ect. Can
happen at anytime after conception. So
yes there is a chance that something went
wrong by drinking but it's only a 50/50
chance. Don't worry about it. Lots of
women have drank or smoked at the
beginning of their pregnancy cause they
didn't know they were pregnant and their
babies were just fine.

I sure hope so. I don't know what I
would do if I had a kid with problems b/c
I drank. That would be my worst
nightmare. I have heard of people who
were on drugs and drank before they knew
and the babies turned out fine. For my
sanity I have to believe that everything
is okay.
