Violent During Sleep
Posted: 11-12-05 13:10pm

Hi
i am a 33 year old male who has suffered from nightmares, night terrors, sleep paralysis, sleepwalking and grinding my teeth. Just to top that lot off I have been hitting my wife in my sleep, pushing her out of bed and insulting her :(
i have chased around the uk for some help, but basically been told that I will have to live with it.
I have been given clonazepam and have slowly increased the dose to 1.5mg before bed. Up to 1 mg had some effect, but increasing to 1.5mg seems to have made a big difference, I also need less sleep per night.
The only downside is that I now snore loudly  but I guess it is better than the alternative.

Has anyone else had this problem and tried a different route/treatment?

If not, I hope this may be of some use to someone in a similar situation. It took me nearly 2 years to get to this stage.

Sleep well
