I'm 37 weeks and the doc told me I have dilated to 1 and my cervix are 80% thin. I was wondering if I will dilate alot more by my next app on the 18th, also will the labor be as long now that I have already started to dilate? :?:

Being dilated doesnt mean a faster labor, I wasnt dialted and had a 4 1/2 hour labor, being dilated too early(before 36 wks) is not a good thing but you should be fine.

Everyone is different. I was completely effaced (thinned out) and 2cm dialated at 36 weeks, I didn't deliver until I was 42 weeks. Don't worry. It is normal to start dialating at around 36-37 weeks. Full term is considered anything after 37 weeks. Congrats and good luck!

Perfectly normal. I was the same way and I was 3 cm dilated with all my births when I finally went into labor--or was induced. No it doesnt mean faster or easier delivery. My first son 36 1/2 hours labor. Second indeced from the beginning--26 hours.
