Q: Atkins & Pregnacy

About 3 months ago I started the atkins diet in which to my surprise works very well. I was wondering if any one knew about how it would affect a pregnacy. I am not pregnant but I do plan to have children soon. If any one knows anything about this subject it will be kindly apreciated for your input.

Well you should end the atkins while pregnant. So you baby can have all the right nutrients and vitamins. Ask you doc on it. It might be ok if you substitute everything with vitamins but you never know. Good luck

Any type of dieting to lose weight is not recommended in pregnancy. Your best bet is to get fit, trim and healthy now than get pregnant. While pregnant maintain a healthy diet with exercise and you will be fine after the birth. Good luck! Maybe we will see you here soon.
