Question About Bcp And Vaginal Contact. Posted: 12-11-03 12:58pm
The woman I am dating and I have been
using condoms and the birth control pill
for 3 months. She has been taking the
pill regularly with no misses.
Last night, she was on one of the last
days of her period, and she still was
using a tampon. We were being sexual, and
she began to run her clit area with my
penis for a while, and that was all that
happened, we did that for maybe 5 minutes.
Since usually we always wear a condom, and
she is on the pill, I don't worry about
pregnancy. But with the penis to vagina
contact, it makes me very very anxietable.
She was on the pill (the placebo pills
right now, but had been taking the real
pills as perscribed), and she had a tampon
in, and was till having her period.
Is there anything to worry about as far as
pregnancy goes? I realize that the pill
isn't 100%, but I was under the impression
that it was fairly effective? I did not
and have never ejaculated inside her
without a condom. Mainly I am worried
about the pre-cum getting on her vagina
(even though she is on the pill and was on
her period with a tampon).
Can anyone with more experience help me
out? Over all the years, i've always used
condoms since the women i've been with
never were on the pill, but now that she
is, the penis/vagina contact makes me more
nervous than I can stand.
Thanks.

Hey you dont have anything to worry about,
not only was she on her period but shes
also on the pill. And you didnt ejaculate
in her. Your just stressing but really
you are ok. Good luck and keep up the
good work on being so safe!

Clom -
just for statistical purposes, the
effectiveness percentages go a little
something like this: birth control pills =
99.5% when taken regularly (same time
every day); condoms = somewhere around
85%. And if you did not ejaculate inside
of your girlfriend (and especially if you
did not even enter her) there is a very
slim chance that she would be pregnant.
It would be relatively the same thing as
using your finger. If she has been
taking the pill properly for 3 months and
has not been on any medication that would
interfere with the pill (i.E.
Prescription medicine, antibiotics, etc.
. .) you should be fine. If your
girlfriend continutes to take her pill
properly and without other drug
interactions, you should statistically be
able to have sex with her and ejaculate
inside of her all you want and it will
still be 99.5% effective.
The menstrual cycle part of your question
would be somewhat irrelevant when dealing
with birth control pills. The essence of
bcps is that it prevents the ovaries from
releasing eggs. A woman's uterus still
accumulates and releases blood (as in a
menstrual cycle) but there is no egg in
it. So timing of her cycle is really a
non-issue because bcps prevent the ovaries
from releasing eggs.
Hope that helps!
