Well, my name is kayla and i'm 16 years old. I just found out today that...I'm pregnant. I really don't have a clue what to do. My boyfriend and I are talking about abortion but I don't know anything about it (how much it costs, what kind of damage it can do etc). Anyways, I feel I can't really go to my parents or family so...I don't know where to turn to for advice. The other option would be to keep the baby but...That would be hard as well. It is possible (i know two who have done it - not close friends I might add otherwise I would go to them). But yea...My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year now and yea...It's not a bad relationship or anything to bring a baby into. But I am soo confused right now and am really stuck for options. Please, if there is anyone out there who can help me...I'd be so grateful.

kayla, it is so bewildering to be pregnant and young and not sure of anything. But no one is a mistake. You have a huge challenge ahead of you. There are many complications from abortion and scarring in your uterus can occur making it difficult to conceive again. Don't know where you live but ther must be a right to life hot line you can call. Look in the phone book. The best thing you can do is finish your educatoin and be all you can be for your child. Now if you decide to keep the baby or allow it to reside in your womb until birth you can look into adoption. It sounds scary I know. But you may be the best friend your child ever had by thinking of it first and yourself second as far as convenience goes. Have you prayed? God is there with you. He has a plan no matter how bleak and unsure you feel. Can you not speak with your parent? What about his parent? Remember your hormones are going at full throttle now and you may feel differently about things in a few months. Be safe! Take good care of yourself.

Hi kayla..I am pregnant right now also. I am 22 yrs old which is a little older than you, and I have a sister who is 17 and is also pregnant..She found out that she was pregnant in july and at that time she was 16. I have went through numerous classes and been to many different places with my sister on what her options are with this baby. My family is highly against abortion so we knew that option would not go over well at all so we started with the adoption info first...You can actually pick the parents to your baby now..I am not sure if that is in all states but they let the birthmother interview people, and select who they think is best. The even better thing is that if you want they can even grant you visiting rights so that you can still see the baby. Now if you end up wanting to keep like it my sister did, there are tons of programs to help young mothers out there as well...You can sign up for hud which is family housing..Food stamps..Get your wic right now through your local health department..This isn't even all of the programs, but you can call the health department in your area and set up an appointment to talk with someone and they will give you information packets and go over all the benefits of everything that they have to offer for you. Also have you started on pre-natal vitamins yet? If you do not have an ob-gyn make sure that you get one as soon as possible. You may be further along than you think...Best wishes and good luck to you=)
