My wife is in the beginning of her 19th
month, and has been having cramps for the
last couple of days. We have a heartbeat
monitor, and we can hear the baby fine.
Are cramps like these "normal" at this
period, or do we have cause for concern?
If she was miscarrying, wouldn't the
heartbeat not be present and there be
blood? She's going to call her doctor
today, but until then, I need some peace
of mind.
Thanks! :)

Do you mean 19 weeks? I'm not sure
whether or not it's normal. My doctor
has told me that some cramping is normal,
especially after sex. The best way to
find out if your wife's cramping is normal
is to do exactly what she's doing, check
with the doctor. In pregnancy most women
turn into super cautious extreme worriers.
I know, i'm one right now. I call my
doctor for everything and I mean
everything... So far everything that
i've been feeling and going through is
normal. My doctor says that a lot of
different symptoms are normal for
different women. So while we're all
going absolutely insane worrying, chances
are good that we're absolutely fine.
Just like chances are good that you're
wife's absolutely fine.

Everytime I post on here I write "months"
instead of "weeks"! Yes, she's 19 weeks.
Lol! If she was 19 months we might
have a problem!
We went to the doctor's yesterday, and all
is fine. It's round ligament pain, and
everything else checked out nicely.
Thanks for replying!

I'm glad to hear your wife is okay!
Round ligament pains, I think that's what
i'm having to right now, though mine is a
little earlier than your wife's. I'm
going to the doctor for confirmation
tomorrow.
