I've been experiencing outer vaginal
itchiness, mostly on one side of my labia,
for well over a year now. My Dr.
Thought it was just a skin irritation down
there and prescribed cortisone cream. I
tried this on and off for a long time and
it's never gone away. Some times the
itchiness gets so bad, I think I could
scratch and scratch until I bleed, and I
have actually scratched myself raw at
times which of course just makes it worse!
I also notice the skin gets very dry and
flaky. I don't have any other symptoms
like abnormal discharge or weird odour so
I have no idea what this is. I've been
trying aveeno cream to relieve it but this
is only an immediate relief and does
nothing to solve the problem. Should I
see a real "gyno" about this, rather than
my fam. Dr? Or a dermotologist?
Somebody help!!

Seeing a gyno might not be a bad idea
seeing its been over a yr but you might
want to try a different cream first even
something over the counter sometimes those
work better for different people
experement alittle but always read the
ingredience make sure ther is nothing your
allergic too good luck

I did buy a 3-day yeast infection kit
(canesten) i'm gonna give it a try and see
what happens. What other over the
counter stuff do you suggest?
