Okay here's my story. I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago from today, the sunday after that I started bleeding really bad so monday morning I went to the er and they did my hcg levels and they were 74 they said I was about 1-2 weeks, they told me I was miscarrying and to go to my family doctor on friday to check them again. In between monday and friday I bleed heavy for sunday and monday, tuesday and wednesday really light, thursday it stopped. Friday I went to my doctor and he took my hcg levels and I told him what had happened and he said yea your having a miscarriage also, I started brown spotting after I went there. My hcg levels came back and they were 145, so he said I was still actually pregnant. Well I have been brown spotting and bleeding every now and then since last friday no cramps or anything like that just brown. He told me to go to my ob. So I did yesterday. They checked my hcg levels again and now there back down to 83. I don't know what's going on and I want to know if anybody has gone through this before. I am scheduled for a d&c on monday but what if i'm not miscarrying? Right now I have no bleeding, no cramps or anything like I did last week when they told me I was miscarrying. I just don't know what to do and was wondering if anybody else has gone through this?

Hi
I would definitely get more opinions. If you are only 1-2 weeks along there should be no reason for a d&c anyways. The body will cleanse itself out.If you were anywhere from 6-40 weeks than yes they would have to do a d&c.I don't understand and your doctors seem a little confused about the whole process.Sorry I can't be of more help

Threw out my first pregnancy I bleed up to 6 months. I would go back and forth to the er and pray each time wonder if this was the end of my pregnancy. They just keeped on providing me with ultrasounds and on bedrest. My doctors told me unless you see white meat in your bleeding you aren't miscarrying. All pregnancies are different for example right now I am pregnant with my second and I feel something might be wrong cause I am not experiencing any type of bleeding like the first. Please hold on and let time pass before going for a dnc. Or get a different type of ultra sound from different clinics or doctors. I hope it all goes good for you don't give up hope.

The exact same thing happened to me earlier this year. My end result was a miscarriage, but I did not need a d&c. Your body should cleanse itself out on its own if you are actually m/c. I had weird bleeding/spotting on & off. I finally m/c @ 7 weeks.

My hcg levels were not as high as the dr said they should be, so she kept checking them & I had us's in between. At one point my hcg levels went down, but the us said that there was growth?? I have no idea what the heck went on. I even lost masses (which the dr told me to bring in so I did)& my hcg levels had still gone up. Come to find out the mass I had took in was determined to be products of conception!!!?!! But I was still "pregnant" @ the time. Have you ever heard the saying "there's no such thing as being a little bit pregnant - you either are or your not". Well I say that there is a such thing. All you can do is go day by day. Any more questions - just ask!

Amanda:

it seems they would have explained everything to you. Their supposed to. Did you ask? I would confidently say that you are miscarrying with your levels going down. But like the others said you would not need a d&c this early on. I think you need to ask the docs why they insist you would need that and possibly find another doctor. Best of luck to you.
