My son was pushed on the playground
equipment at school and ended up with a 2
inch gash to the skull on his forehead.
He is only 5. He bled alot and the other
children were really scared. This
happened about 3 weeks ago. Now he is
telling me that when he is on the
playground he feels like he can't breathe,
he doesn't feel like his name is who he
is, he doesn't know what he is doing, and
he feels like he's going to die. Please
any information on whether or not this is
a panic or anxiety attack or what I should
do to help him.
A concerned mom

It does sound like panick or severe
anxiety. I am not sure what to do to
help him, except maybe take him to
playgrounds yourself to be there with him
and show him it will be ok?
It sounds like a type of post traumatic
stress thing for him - which is totally
understandable.

It is def anxiety leading to panic attacks
you need to sit down and speak to him even
get paper and pens and ask him how he
feels about things let him express himself
on paper infact make it a game !!!!!!
That way you will find out what he really
is feeling
i wish you all the best !!! :d

Try to talk to your Dr. About it and see
what he says, in the meantime let him know
what a tough guy he is, their are just too
many bullies around.
Have you talked to the school principal
about it, they should also talk to the
other kids(bullies) parents about it.
Allow your son to talk it out. Panic and
anxiety attacks are not good, you may need
a professional!
Good luck to you and your son!
