Am I Stressing Too Much? Posted: 11-21-05 12:17pm
I've been on bc pill for ~7 years. My
period is like clockwork, wed-sun, with
medium to heavy flow. This month (just
came off of what was my period) it started
on wednesday, I bled a little that day,
and for the rest of the week it was just
brown discharge (which I have had in
previous periods, only at night though but
lots of flow during the day) and it ended
on sat. I know I missed one pill from my
last pack.
A girl I work w/ urged me to take an hpt,
so I did yesterday afternoon, and received
a neg result. My boyfriend's not
worried and says i'm just stressing (i
didn't really start stressing until the
end of my period).
Are all hpt brands equally accurate (i
used equate brand), b/c i'm wondering if I
should take another hpt b/c I read online
that bc pills can cause irregular flow
sometimes (though it has never happened to
me). Sorry for such a long-winded post
and thanks in advance for any help :!:

Most hpt will give an accurate result when
you actually miss a period. When was the
exact date of your last menstrual period?
Some tests like first response &
answer will detect hcg in urine @ 10 past
conception - which would be 25 miu. Other
tests (like equate) will detect the hcg @
50miu - or around the time you miss your
period.

I would try another test, using your first
morning urine. If that test is neg &
you are still concerned, call your dr:)
