Does anyone here take xanax? I was just
prescribed it last night and will be using
it for the 1st time tonight. The Dr.
Said not to take other medications while
using it...This may sound dumb of me, but
did she mean only like other prescription
meds or did she also mean like regular
aspirin or cold medicine? I was just
wondering because I use aspirin a lot
every day. Does anyone know if this is
harmful to do while taking xanax? I need
the xanax to calm me but the Dr. Said I
showed signs of having a blood clot, and
although I didn't have one I feel like I
need to always take aspirin to thin my
blood and prevent a clot. Please help!
Also has anyone had really bad experiences
with xanax?

The best thing to do is to talk to your
dr, the assistant or a pharmacist about
the aspirin.
Good luck to you!

I took xanax for about 6 months and during
this time I was fine - no side effects
nothing differant except the anxiety faded
away. I used the time that I was on the
xanax to discover a way to deal with the
anxiety. Once I thought that I would be
able to handle the anxiety I slowly
stopped taking the xanax. I was taking 1
tablet .25mg 3 times a day. So I went to
twice a day for a week and then once a day
for a week and so on until I was off of
it, as it is only for short term use.
Now I listen to relaxation tapes, take
herbalife products for stress/mild anxiety
and I can happily say that I have not had
a panic attack for a couple of months and
my anxiety is so mild that I would say I
am 95% cured!
I think the first thing that everyone
needs to do that suffers from anxiety is
get fully checked by their doctor and then
accept that they have anxiety and that it
will not hurt them! Acceptance if the
first stage in recovery.
Please contact me if you need any further
details/information etc

Be extremely careful with this medication,
it is highly addicting!!! I was
prescribed xanax about 10 years ago for
anxiety at the same dosage as you are on.
Last year, my brother committed suicice
due to a heroin problem and the
psychiatrist increased my dose to 5 mg
daily.
Now I am in the process of weaning down,
and it is no picnic. I have pains and
cant sleep at night even though he is
tapering me off very slowly. My body
feels like it was literally hit by a
bus.
Just take the meds for a limited
time...Don't let them tell you otherwise!

I have been on everything for anxiety:
buspar, xanax, ativan, etc... I still
take ativan when I go on flights because
i'm a terrible flyer and I travel for my
job. (go figure). Anyway, I used to
have anxiety attacks in my car, the
grocery store, walking down the street,
and pretty much everywhere except my
couch. I currently take a stress relief
product from shaklee. (i signed up to be
a member because it pays for itself after
2 orders). Anyway, I started feeling
less anxiety after about a week of taking
this product, and after about three weeks
my anxiety attacks are gone. Here is a
link to the product:
i'm sure there are other products out
there that do the same thing and I don't
sell this stuff, but it worked for me and
i'm sure it will work for you. The one
thing I really like about it is that it
doesn't contain kava, which i've read can
be really bad to some people's systems.
My advice would be to find something
better than xanax, take it from me, it's
tough to quit. Keep us posted and good
luck!
