My Husband Died From Lupus Only 2 Months Ago And Know I Find Posted: 11-23-05 12:31pm
Out that our 2 yr. Old son also has
lupus!
I just fell so confused, they told us that
we wouldn't know for sure untill he was
5..
He has to take a baby aspin everyday, he
doesn't understand why mommy gets so
scared when he gets cut? I feel so
overwhelmed...Anyone else have a child
with lupus?
My husband was 26 yrs old when he died

My sympathy goes out to you. How long
did your husband suffer with lupus and
what complications did he die from. I
hope these questions are not too hard for
you to answer. Don't worry too much
about your son and getting cuts I havent
herd about cuts causing a problem with
lupus patients and if he does have lupus
since he is diagnosed early he may have a
much much better chance of not developing
this sickness. I wish you much luck.

wow, thanks so much for responding..He
found out he had lupus at 18 when the
actually blood clot hit him in his
lung, they took out half of the lung b/c of
it, he was in a coma for 9 weeks..They
thought he was dead..But he did surive, he
died b/c a recurring blood clot in his leg
that had broken off and traveled to his
lung..He was dead for he knew it hit
him.
Yes, we have been seening alot of doctors
that deal w/ lupus..But they don't
understand how a 2 1/2 yr old has
this...They are doing a good job a manging
this deasise.

Thanks For Your Reply. Posted: 12-21-05 13:21pm
Once again I must say that I am very sorry
to hear about the death of your husband.
As a lupus patient we never like to hear
when someone dies. However, that is the
harsh reality of the sickness. I too
suffer from blood clots. I was rushed to
the hospital with severe pain in my lung
area but the doctors did not realize I had
a blood clot at the time. However,
further testing showed I indeed had one.
I have been on blood thinners ever since
and my doctor told me I will be on them
for life. I hope your husbands doctor
had put him on thinners.
If your son is taking blood thinner then
yes you need to be careful with him having
cuts. I am really very sorry to hear
that your son at such a tender age has to
deal with this ordeal and I really wish
you all the best.
How old was your husband when he died?
Please try to hang in there and make
prayer a part of your day to day activity.
Bye for now. Please reply if you can.

My condolences on the death of your
husband. I am curious as to why your son
is on aspirin. I, too, was diagnosed
with sle 7/05. My first problem with
lupus was a drastic decrease in my
platelets, which are needed for clotting
of blood. I am still on prednisone for
the low platelets.
Although your husband had developed blood
clots, does the doctor feel your son is
also prone to developing clots?
Good luck to you and your son. Hope all
goes well for him, and you, in the future.
