I'm 5 weeks preggy, the cramps is normal this is due to our corpus luteum in our ovary, I have cramps too and this corpus luteum is responsible in forming the placenta.

You should still see your doctor for any cramping!!! Who knows what is normal for you! I had cramping when I was pregnant, and I was actually in labor. I didn't even know I was pregnant.

This early in pregnancy it is not easy to determine the normal growing "cramping" from the somethings wrong "cramping". I would monitor it. If its just every now & then - everything is probably ok. But if it comes more often than not, or gets to be constant - I would definately call the Dr.

You should call the dr anyway - to make me (&you) feel better:)

It is very painful for the first 5 weeks after ovulation, was for me anyway. Every day all day long. But it is no where as painful as a miscarriage, or even as hard as period cramps were for me. It is just that it lasts around 5 to 6 weeks for most women, (long pain some times seems more painful--if you know what I mean)---- it is the expelling of estrogen and progestrone, while the placenta is forming. It is corpus luteum, like other writer says.

I had no idea I was pregnant. I was having a little cramping and back pain. My husband tried to crack my back, I tried everything. Finally, I went to the er and they told me I was having pre term labor!

I was 16 weeks. I was put on medication to stop the labor for the remainder of the pregnancy. Everything turned out okay!

Whaaaa? You were four months pregnant and had gone into labor? I've only heard of something similar happening once, only the mother actually gave birth at 5 months. Wow, that's craziness, but I guess it's understandable that you may not know of pregnancy at 16 weeks, especially if your symptoms were very subtle and since your belly doesn't show until about 20 weeks.

Nonetheless, i'm glad to know everything turned out okay.
