Stomach Swollen - Gall Bladder Out Last Week Posted: 11-23-05 15:03pm
I had my gall bladder removed last week
through outpatient. I am one of those
people that has to stick with a low fat
diet for a while because anything with fat
in it is making me nauseaus.
I have lost 5 pounds in a week yet I can't
even button my pants. I am still wearing
my pj pants. How long does your tummy
stay swollen?? I took a water pill and
it's not helping.
Is this pretty normal?

They use carbon dioxide to blow your
stomach up during the surgery. It
disipates gradually & is absorbed back
into your body. It can take upto a month
to go down completely. Dont take water
tablets, as these will not help at all!

Thank you so much. I didn't think about
that! Okay, I just need to be patient and
wear a rubber band on my pants. I
haven't done that since I was pregnant.

I've had it removed five days ago. And I
am feeling great, no pain, no nothing, but
I look like I am four months pregnant.
And I began to worry something is not as
it's supposed to be. But if you say
that's normal and others experience it,
then I shall not worry.

I should add, that you can experience pain
under your ribs & in your shoulders
due to this gas too.
