High Blood Pressure On Bcpatch!!! Posted: 11-23-05 18:22pm


So, after learning about the risks associated with the ortho evra patch I decided to switch to the pill thinking this would be a pretty easy switch that my health care provider would be more than happy to assist me with. After about an hour on the phone with kaiser and another 2 hours waiting for them to get back to me they say that they can't write me a prescription because of my "high blood pressure." i've had it for the past few months and they didn't seem at all concerned about it at the time and never reccomended I quit the birth control. So i'm just curious as to why they're concerned now. I'm worried about it, I am only 24 but heart problems run in my family. What if i'm at risk for a heart attack or stroke and I was putting myself at a greater risk by taking the patches the past 3 years.. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm going to the see the Dr. On friday but I am not sure exactly what they're gonna say
