I am doing ivf this january and wanted to
know if anyone can tell me what to expect.
Also has anyone tried ivf and succeeded
or failed? It would be a great help if I
knew what to expect.
Holly.

Hope your cycle goes well. I have been
through two cycles. There are some great
boards that could help you understand the
process, but understand that it is a
little different with each clinic. The
meds are different and the protacal is
different but you will find that some of
the major info is the same. Good luck and
god bless.
By the way if you go to
surrogatemothersonline.Com you will find a
lot of info there.
My least favorite part was the progestrone
shots. They are painful after awhile (i
did it for 14 weeks with one cycle).
Anyhow good luck and god bless

Hi Posted: 01-20-06 23:12pm
I did ivf last year and was successful
after two fresh cycles and one frozen. I
live in the fresno area and we have one of
the top doctors who specializes in only
infertility. Dont be surprised if it
doesn't work on the first try. But
usually, after three tries, you are just
giving out money for nothing. We are
doing our next cycle in hopes to conceive
again this march.
Its true there are many different drugs
available and different protocals. I was
on the 14 day lupron injections, gonal f
1200 injections, and pregnal hcg injection
before the transplant. I then had to
take some oral medicaitons after the
transplant. I will tell you this, the
egg retrieval can be painful. Dont
hesitate to ask for pain medication. You
are put under sedation but when you come
through, it can be very painful. The
transplant is two to three days later and
you are awake for that. There is no pain
involved.
There is a website you can purchase meds
from cheap in case your insurance does not
cover them. It is www.Freegaragesale.Com. You then click on the link for
medical. I have saved thousands on this
site.
There is also a company that offers
medical loans, but you have to qualify and
you have to go to a place that accepts it.
Its called care credit. Www.Carecredit.Com.
I think capital one still offers medical
loans as well.
Good luck and I hope this helps. Please
let me know if you need any other advice.

Hi!
We went through many attempts at iui's and
I wasn't responding so we began ivf. We
were blessed on my third try and that
included one frozen transfer. After
almost three years of trying my daughter
is now three years old. If I can suggest
a couple of things, make sure after the
procedure you lay low. I wouldn't do
anything but relax. Also, frozen
transfers do work so if you have the
opportunity to freeze any, you should.
This can be a very difficult decision,
however, if you do not become pregnant a
frozen transfer is much easier on your
body than an ivf. When I became
pregnant, I had had one frozen embryo.
We had it put in six months later and I
bacame pregnant. I hate to hear of any
couples going through infertility. I
wish you the best, it will happen!

I just had ivf done and i'm really feeling
the sensation as if my period is about to
start, does that mean i'm probably not
pregnant? Should I not be so negative,
or are you suppose to feel anything??
It's only been a week since my ivf and i'm
anxious to find out.
