Legal Help For a Bi-polar "felon In Flight"? Posted: 11-24-05 12:25pm
My husband's daughter, now 28, jobless,
homeless, has recently come to live with
us occasionally. She has not been
diagnosed yet and is seeking help.
Bi-polar disorder is strongly suspected,
her mom and all of her relatives have this
and other mental illnesses. She is unable
to work, unable to get around with no
driverslicense or public transport.
A few years ago in another state she did
some traffic violations including a hit
and run on a parked car. She owes 4000.-
to a collection agency and the interest is
growing. Here she was denied legal help,
food stamps and medical care.
I heard that there is legal help available
if you are diagnosed with a specific
mental challenge. Please advise, where
could she go?
Someone said she needs to return to oregon
where the offences occured, but she is
broke, frightened etc., it is just not an
option.
Can anyone advise us?
