Most likely, you are going to have to give
a urine sample as well as have a blood
test done.
You wont have your first ultra-sound until
about 4 months unless you are high risk.
Good luck

Depends on your doctor though, my doctor
did an ultrasound everytime I had a visit
and I was never high risk. At my first
doctor's visits they always talked to me
took my blood and urine samples and wrote
me a script for my pre-natal vitamins.
That's kinda it, I know most doctor's
don't do ultrasounds the way my doc's
office does unless you're high risk but ya
never know.

My first appt was great! I had bllod and
urine tests done, a pap test too (ugh)
and then talked to a nurse about what I
could and could not do and eat and they
gave me a gazzillion papers on excersices
and food and stuff. I was high risk so
they did schedule me for an ultrasound
ummmmmm.... Same day I think or the next
day.

Since this is your first pregnancy, make
sure that you write down any questions you
may have, so you don't forget when you go
in! My doctors always gave me lots of
baby magazines that show how your baby is
changing each week. They will do a urine
test, listen to your belly, a pap smear to
make sure everything is healthy down
there! They may take a blood sample in
the office, or send you to a lab for it,
depending on your office. Good luck!

I just got back from my first appointment.
The doctor did a vagnial ultra sound.
My mother had had countless miscarriages
and I am a severe asthamtic.
When I go back in four weeks, he will be
doing another one on my next visit.

On your first visit you'll gonna have:
urine tests - for glucose and protein I
think
smear test - routinary
blood tests -- all sorts (cbc, tests for
stds(everyone has this dont be freaked
out)
family medical history check --- with your
nurse or midwife
good luck

Best advice
buy the book what to expect while
expecting its about 22$ but if you go on
amazon.Ca its cheaper explains months 1-9
labour/delivery and posptpartum.
Honestly I loved it with my first but I
find that with second it doesnt have
everything I need to know but thats where
dr comes in...
