Hello. We need magnetoencephalography meg for our son 14 y.O. Where, how ? We need most powerfull latest meg machine. We have very complex difficult case. Aed does not work for us. My son usually has seizures every day. We live in baltimore. National institutes of health (nih) has meg, but we need another more powerfull meg machine. Detroit ? Michigan ? Please. We need information. Thank you.

Can you ask your neuro what other places have meg? Are you looking for a second opinion? I will do some searching. I am pretty sure that henry ford hospital has meg. Nyu has it in new york city. Massachusetts has one in braintree. What is your hope for meg? It sounds like an amazing test, we have not had one though, just read about it.

I will link some comprehensive epilepsy centers, you can look on those sites or contact them to see if they have meg. Thank you very much for answers. We need meg because it is very important to find exactly where seizures start. We have had regular eeg, video eeg, mri, pet. But, nobody knows why and where seizures start. Thank you.

Andrey, I wish you well in trying to get answers. You have probably been told that for 70% of people with epilepsy, it is idiopathic and no known cause can be found? Sometimes they cannot nail down the focus either but I sure hope they can for your son. Some other tests for you to look into are siscom (at mayo clinic) which is supposed to more precisely locate the foci, ictal spect, which is at many epilepsy centers, which can also show what is going on. I hope that you can find a meg for your son and get him answers and control! So frustrating to try everything and not get the seizures to stop. Hang in there....
