I Checked My Cervix, So What Did I Feel?? Posted: 11-27-05 18:41pm
Well after reading that the cervix changes
in texture and position with your cycle
and pregnancy, I decided to go ahead in
there and check my own. Now the sites
weren't too specific on what it should
feel like when pregnant but this is what I
felt when I just checked mine... I tried
this last week also and had the same
feelings inside.. Sorry if this seems
gross or tmi for some people.. I inserted
my middle finger and instantly noticed I
was a lot tighter than normal and uppon
further examination all I felt around me
was soft squishyness.. I know from past
experience how I feel inside and this is
verry different than what I normally feel
like. So what does this mean?? Has
anyone here done this on them selves to
check for pregnancy, or asked your Dr.
What they are feeling for when they do
this? I know this is not an exact
indicator that you are or arent pregnant
but I just want to know what I felt and
what it means. Kelly j.

Anyone have any ideas?? I can't find
anything on the web.. Only one site
mentioned that at some point in pregnancy
(besides labour) a womans cervix turns
soft.

Well, Try Google Posted: 12-02-05 10:31am
I was reading just yesterday about that
very thing, but the site that I saw said
that yes, a woman's cervix gets soft when
she is pregnant, but also, right around
her period. It suggested charting for
several months to be able to tell the
difference. Fat lot of good that does
huh? Try doing a search on google with
the words cervix, soft and pregnancy.
Maybe that will help?

Thanks for replying, but I actually found
out on tuesday I am not pregnant but
infact have adenomyosis, which would
explain the stretching pulling feeling and
the need to pee more and my bowels slowed
because my uterus was swelled with blood
to about the size of 6-8 weeks pregnant.
But I also was told that pregnancy can
help aleviate the symptoms temporarly in
some people.. So I am going to give that
a try, (either that or lupron, but I wont
take that) my fiance and I are going to
speak to my ob-gyn next monday to discuss
our options and hopefully plan when to
start ttc!!!!!! :d hopefully I
will be back here soon, with all new
questions and info to share. Kelly j.
