I have a question. I have never been on
any birth control. I dated a guy a for 3
years and we used the pull out method,
nothing else. I never got pregnant.
But I have been single now for 3 months
and had a drunken night with an old
friend. He didn't pull out, and I was
ovulating? This was last weekend and
i've been in a panic ever since. Any
way of knowing for sure this early?

Since it was just last weekend.. I doubt
it would show up on any tests. More than
likely if you are pregnant, from it being
only a week, your hcg levels wouldn't be
high enough to show up on a test. Only
way to tell early is to take a test right
before your period is suppose to start (a
couple days before). Or you could always
go get a blood test done. Along with
that, I would get an std test since you
didn't use any protection.
Even though you had used the pull out
method and never got pregnant before
(which is still very risky), I would still
get on some form of birth control so you
don't have these scares. But the only
thing that protects against std's are
condoms. I'd would carry some with you
for now on.
Good luck, hope everything turns out ok.

That Sucks! Posted: 11-29-05 09:22am
Sorry girly but you will probably have to
wait until your period is due, to take a
test. There is about a 25% chance that
you have conceived. I really hope for
your sake that you are not pregnant and
did not catch an std.
Just fyi:
average couple trying to conceive has a
25%-30% chance of conceiving each month
1 in 4 sexually active adults has genital
herpes
1 in 3 has some form of hpv (aka-genital
warts)
many of these people who have these
diseases either
a) dont know they have it
b) have it and are too scared to tell
their partner
so please use protection in the future and
also get on some birth control
good luck to you honey!

Are you talking about last weekend meaning
nov. 26/27? If so, then yes, it is too
early to test for pregnancy. However, if
it was the weekend of the 19th/20th that
you had the one night stand, then a blood
serum hcg pregnancy test might work. The
urine pregnancy tests wont show a result
until you are close to missing your
period, or have already missed it.

I've Taken 2 Tests Posted: 12-03-05 11:44am
I've taken 2 tests, and so far both are
negative. I'm supposed to start
tomorrow, but i'm usually always a couple
of days early, but not this time. No
signs of starting but I hope so, the last
test I took was this morning and it was
definately negative, so hopefully it will
stay that way. Anyone know what the odds
are that I am actually pregnant?

Also, don't worry so much. Since you
have taken 2 tests and they have both come
back negative, don't stress out. Stress
can lengthen the time between your
periods. Wait another few days, and
don't stress, and if nothing has come,
take another test....Hope this helped!
