Well I take b/c and it hasn't done anything to me other than keep me from getting pregnant... B/c is safe and I think the risk of getting something serious from it is pretty low, but don't quote me on that, I could be wrong. Anyways, if u don't wanna take the pills, get the shot. Other than condoms there isn't a lot more u can do... Other than not have sex at all, but i'm not here to tell u what to do or what not to do. Just remember, everytime u have sex u risk getting pregnant and since ur only 14 are u really ready for the resposibility of a baby? Just something to think about.... Good luck

All pills have to warn you about this because some patients have come up with those problems, but they can't prove if it was because of the birth control or not.

With you being young, you really don't have much to worry about with that. They say most problems come with women 35 and over who smoke. Just don't switch to the patch, i've heard of too many bad things happening with them. Or the depo shot really. I did some research on the shot.. Doesn't seem like a great choice for anyone in my eyes.

I have been on bc (ortho tri-cyclen) since I was 15 (so 5 years now) to regulate my periods and have not had any problem. Only time I had a problem was when I switched to generics because it was cheaper than my regulars, and my body doesn't like generics apparently.

Side effects suck with the pills, and last up to 3 months (which mine went away after the 1st month), but they're worth it in the end. No kids for me until I am ready. =)

Some girls lose weight, some gain weight, some it doesn't affect them at all. Most I heard of girls gaining weight on the pill was like 5 pounds. I've never gained weight on it though. One of my friends who got on the depo shot gained 50 pounds in 3 months though. Eek! One of the many reasons I never got the shot. Lol
